LIFE is never straightforward on The X Factor and this year is certainly no different.

Show boss Simon Cowell is still working to fill the fourth and final position on the judging panel, having signed up Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda Field.


And in a bold, last-minute move, I’m told he tried to sign none other than Elton John.

But sadly the coup did not come off because the superstar singer was too busy with his tour dates to make time for the ITV talent show.

In an exclusive interview, Elton’s husband David Furnish said: “There was talk about the possibility of a judging role for Elton.

“But he does 100 shows a year and he doesn’t have time for X Factor judging roles. We’re too busy with Elton’s tour, which is starting in September

So Robbie and his wife really are happening, huh? :/
