At what age do we think a kid matures into an adult (in more than just a legal sense)?

hhmmm tough one, depends on the person I think but somewhere between 20-23ish? having said that I have an 18 year old daughter and a 20 year old step son and the 18 year old is more of an adult. It also depends alot on their lives as well, how much responsibility they've had/had to take on from a younger age, there's lots of factors

Totally depends. I have known some 16 year olds who are more mature then 25 year olds.

Gone for 21, as others have said it depends on the person, i think 25 is pushing it a bit though

Mhm. Anything under 25 can still pass as youth.

Apparently the brain is not fully developed until (I think its...) 25
I think some people mature a lot earlier than others though. I lived on my own and had a job since being 16 and managed perfectly well. I do think I am a totally different person now though from then

Youth yes, but the question is adulthood! You are definitely an adult at age 25

21, the age where a teen has properly transitioned into an adult.
18 could work as well if the teen matures fast... 16 is too young and 25 is a bit too old, for most people. Last edited by Eddie.; 24-07-2018 at 01:04 PM. |

I think that people on average tend to start feeling more independent at around the 16-17 mark so I voted for that on the poll.

I would say theres a huge difference between a young adult and an adult
24 is about the time when you stop having excuses for being bad at life
