I think there's only like one or two morning sessions this time, the timetabling has also been really poor - 800/1500 overlapping, the 400m final being 2 hours before the 4x400m final etc.

Honestly GB need to host a European Champs, the atmosphere would be so amazing and the crowd would get to see GB win far more medals than they do at the Worlds I can't believe they've never hosted one before

Just catching up on the red button coverage now, why are we hearing the Long Jump/Hammer Throw commentary but seeing the 100m races?? Hope they fix that for tomorrow

Went to Worlds Champs in London last year. It was great.
They could host this multi-event Euros in London's Olympic Park, all necessary venues are still there.

Pretty poor opening day for GB Athletics... only 3 of the possible 7 athletes made it through in what were supposed to be pretty easy heats... and they all had to qualify a 'q' marks instead of auto qualifying.

Tomorrow is when the real Athletics action starts tbf

Efimova is only 26 which means we've got at least another 4 years of Becky dragging her <3

I'm really surprised at that, I'd have thought a Europeans would be easier to acquire than a Worlds agree though, I'm intrigued to see the response to this multi-sport format and what they do going forward cause I think it's been a great idea. How often could you do it though? Surely holding it in an Olympic year kind of takes away from that, but the meets have got to go ahead regardless so guess we'll see!

I don't believe we've ever hosted a World Swimming champs either so I'd like one in London plz

I'm SO excited for tomorrow, the Men's and Women's 100m semi finals and finals, there's a very good possibility of us snatching both Golds

I'm most interested to see who's gonna come out on top between Hughes and Prescod (if Vicaut doesn't beat them both )

This elimination cycling track race is my favourite non-Athletics event I think, it's so fun to watch <3

Is it a standalone event as well or just part of the Omnium?

Stand alone in everything but Olympics. Laura Kenny won it yesterday. It's been her speciality event.

Thankfully yes they've also added the 1500m free for women and the 800 for men to bring parity to the distance events

I personally think they should've added the other 50m strokes too, we could've had Ben Proud in the fly and Peaty in the breakstroke too
