Yes they should be immune it wouldn’t be fair if on the first week they were up for eviction

Yes 100% otherwise they would just be the obvious choice for eviction and that would be pointless.
Newbies have almost always been exempt from nominations anyway.

It's always the case they are excluded from noms the first week...giving them time to 'settle in'..which I guess is fair because they would be an easy target for the 'originals'.
They do get to nominate which is slightly unfair bearing in mind they have probably been watching the show and made their minds up already...but that's based on highlights. I don't think they should nominate based on that fact alone. They should be given more time to get to know the housemates and make their decision on what they see rather than just the highlights. |

I've always felt it some-what unfair for new housemates to join mid-way through the series.
For this series they skipped 3 evictions, whilst the original housemates had to face them and possibly exit from the house. So newbies have the advantage of facing less evictions than the rest. However, I do understand newbies face an uphill challenge of integrating with the original housemates who's relationship dynamics have been solidified over the weeks. What do other forum members think of the advantages/disadvantages of newbies vs originals ? |

I think it's very telling when newbies arrive. Viewers want to see new dynamics but newbies are more likely to just try and blend in in fear of being nominated...but that's not what we want to see. The originals have marked their territory and see it as 'their house' and find it hard to accept newbies because they feel they have more right to be there because they have been playing the game longer. It's the bigger people IMO who just take them in and welcome them and give them a fair crack of the whip... |

Newbies major disadvantage will always be the usual originals vs newbies settlement which newbies usually lose. Newbies advantages... well the 1 week immunity is a good start. It also on how likable they are as housemates and also how much cracks have formed in the originals relationships in the amount of time they have spend in the house and are they deep enough to get a original hm out over a newbie? Ie: How much "beef" one or some of the originals have for one or some of the original housemates vs a housemate who has no beef with no one. |

..yeah I do think they should be able to nominate..(..but be exempt from being nominated themselves for their first week..)...it’s the way it’s always been so far as I recall because they don’t enter the house in a level playing field way that the other housemates do...they’re always at a disadvantage ..not because of any behaviour or character related things but just because they’re new and we haven’t attached to them in any way yet...but they do need though to be able to possibly influence which housemates will be up for eviction out of the regular degular housemates...just because that’s the whole point of having newbies...to jiggle up the house dynamics and hopefully, create something new...while trying to create their own impact as best as they can before they can be nominated...
