I can't really get on board with Shirley's "tough love" when they haven't even tried helping Linda. They've just given her grief and more reasons to drink from the start. They're acting like this is the last straw, the last resort but it isn't. None of them have even tried with her.

Not to mention, throwing her rape and her cancer in her face. The torment of which Shirley added to by shaming her for months and even after the truth came out still treating Linda like sh*t.

Not to mention, Shirley herself being a drunken lush who can't survive without consuming alcohol daily and has a habit of attempting to drown family members.

Not to mention, Linda being blamed for Mick kissing Whitney for being selfish enough to have a sick mother and get cancer herself.

We're supposed to sympathise with the suffering family, but really, Linda's right. It's always about saint Mick and how put upon he is. I'd drink too if I lived with Mick and had to put up with Shirley mooching off my pub, living in my home and playing mother hen to the baby she abandoned for 40 years.

PHEW!!!!

Just my thoughts.

...yeah, this is really very much what I meant when I said that I didn’t feel any heart with it, I didn’t feel the emotion and the depth...I know in soapland, it all has to be on fast forward/on double time...but we still feel that depth with many storylines ...there have been flashes of it, but then they’ve gone and taken it away again in another scene...I thought there was too much crammed in with Shirley raging at her, Mick hovering over and her son standing looking at her in terror...I didn’t feel that terror like I should have, you know...and I don’t feel the sadness in Mick for the loss of ‘Linda’ like I should and want to...

After what happened with Linda last night, I'm gobsmacked that she is even being allowed to attend the anniversary boat party. Honestly, I didn't think it could get worse after her public pissing display but what do I know~

I'm so glad Shirley finally stepped in. I'm even gladder(..?) that she and Mick allowed Linda to think Ollie could be dead as a result of her actions. That scream

I thought it was hypocritical how they chastised Linda for how she acts in front of Ollie and then Mick stands there allowing him to watch his mum and gran fight in the hallway and her screaming that she thought he was dead.

The Linda aspects of the story are well acted and have great scenes, the overall writing, and especially Shirley and Mick's parts needs major work.

But, it actually makes no sense. When did he do this? Why does Dot have a convenient random ass compass design on her bedroom ceilings? When did he make a hole?
Why is the ceiling as thin as paper? How did he get in the loft? etc etc etc etc
