Default Saudi teen Rahaf who fled 'abusive' family is to fly to Canada

Typical of Canada,
if they let her in.?

[A Saudi teenager who fled her homeland
for Thailand to escape her "abusive"
family is to fly to Canada, Thai officials say.
Thailand's immigration chief said
Rahaf Mohammed Alqunun would
be leaving the country on Friday
after she was granted asylum in Canada.
However, the officer of Canada's
foreign minister said it could
not confirm the 18-year-old
had been granted asylum.]

It must be nice to be able to pick and choose what countries you want to live on welfare in.

Gross, the lack of empathy in this country grows more grotesque by the day.

Who cares if the girl was abused and would have been killed by her own family, she's probably just aspiring to be a dole dosser! It's just such an ignorant sentiment, I'm tired of it.

She's fleeing a crappy family, she's not being hunted by the government. Moving to the other side of the country would have much the same effect, if it was just about her relatives.

But it's good to know there are lovely and thoughtful people out there

It's Saudi ****ing Arabia, Oliver. Do you not know about about the male guardian laws? Women aren't allowed to travel without a male family member present or at least their permission. Women can't just move to the other side of the godamn country because if they tried they would face the full brunt of the law and be returned to her abusive household afterwards.

Honestly, it's fine if you lack empathy but at least have a clue of what you're talking about.
