No Confirmed names
No Confirmed date but said to be after Brexit. [The Observer has been told by multiple sources that at least six MPs have been drawing up plans to resign the whip and leave the party soon. There have also been discussions involving senior figures about a potentially far larger group splitting off at some point after Brexit, if Corbyn fails to do everything possible to oppose Theresa May’s plans for taking the UK out of the EU] https://www.theguardian.com/politics...m-centre-group Last edited by arista; 03-02-2019 at 09:26 AM. |

We desperately need a proper, sensible, socially responsible centrist option in the UK so honestly I hope we do somehow get one. Of course I'm somewhat skeptical that it wouldn't be a petty mess like every other political party.

If this labour party is moving to the centre, then it's a shift left from their current centre-right inclination.

At least the Lib Dems have a good firm set of policies to do with Brexit, and those who don't agree and instead support May's Deal resign the whip and don't confuse the message Last edited by Underscore; 03-02-2019 at 11:52 AM. |

Pretty much, I don't think a centre party can succeed tbh, when you look at parties succeeding that aren't the main three, it's often because they are on the extreme left or right.

A new centrist party will never work. By definition it sits between the other parties and if they ever gain any traction, the other parties will just take their policies as their own. The same thing repeats itself over and over. The only parties that are unique are those that contain at least an element of extremism as that is what sets them apart.

I live in a marginal Labour constituency that flipped in 2017 by just 249 votes. I think he does need my vote.

And the lib dems did surrender a lot of their principles which is why they were decimated in the following election. They should have walked away from the coalition to potentially force another election when the Tories forced through bedroom tax and the cuts to social spending and the NHS. That coalition handed the Tories the next election and that's when the ****show really began. I can't forgive Lib Dems for that. I don't know who I'll vote in future but I can guarantee it'll never be Tory, UKIP or Lib Dem. |

Let them go I say.
Whoever they are and when they stop hiding behind anonymity. They don't sound trustworthy or voteworthy to me. Disloyal, moaners, bad losers and full of self importance. The worst qualities of any would be or already so MPs. Last edited by joeysteele; 03-02-2019 at 01:23 PM. |

Lib Dems made too many concessions in their greed for power and they paid for it in the election that followed and we all paid for it because they lost enough support to guarantee the Tories a majority government. |

Labour is a mess at the moment, if MPs want to leave to form a group that's balanced then go for it, it won't work but I'd support the effort. |

POW! BLAM!

Can't Corbyn and his front bench split off and make a far left party we can all ignore, so Labour will actually stand a chance?
