First Past the Post never makes it easy for New Party's UKIP did well with 2 MP's, back then, that were Hissed at as they sat down in Parliament, Back then before David Cameron rushed to call the in and out referendum As 2 more Conservative MP's were getting ready to jump over to UKIP So David saved his Party thinking he could win it Dragging in the then USA President made his case worse |

Corbyn is being cunning about Brexit. He wants a soft brexit but refuses to be clear bc doesn't want to alienate remainers.
Under the first-past-the-post system a new party will always have an uphill struggle to get a decent representation in parliament. Anyway tho, I'm not sure there's a need for another centrist party (LibDems being one already). The other two parties regularly move towards and away from the centre and would periodically squeeze out the new party making its life even more difficult. |
