Probably when we went on a school trip to this place in West Wales, it was like a sustainable energy place (solar panels, wind/water power etc, run by Hippys basically) in the mountains, really high up.
Anyway, to get from the road to it you have to ride this water-powered weighted tram lift thing up the side of the mountain. This is it: Our train basically had too many [fat] people in and we were stuck right at the top of the bloody thing just before the point where we could get out (like a gate on a ledge) but just after the steps at the side ended, with like a 200ft drop under us, and the guy was like "Don't panic but sometimes when this happens we have to just flood the water out of the weights and let you 'drop a bit' to get things moving again". I was a broken man considering I don't do rides or heights or anything like that! Last edited by LaLaLand; 29-03-2019 at 10:54 PM. |

OH actually when we flew back from Malta once into Birmingham airport it was really windy and the plane was literally swaying from side to side when we were coming in to land.
I look out the window and I see farmer's standing by a tractor in a field looking up at the plane like Glad I couldn't see what the plane looked like because the feeling was bad enough! Like being in one of those viking ships on the funfair! People were audibly concerned put it that way! Last edited by LaLaLand; 29-03-2019 at 11:16 PM. |

Once, we got chased out of a home in India by a gang of gun-wielding bandits. We managed to escape but I fell into a ditch and almost got captured

Yeah it’s true. My family live in the rural parts where law enforcement is scarce. We managed to get away unscathed but we’re not going back there thank the lord.
We actually started laughing about it after once we reached our villa Last edited by SherzyK; 29-03-2019 at 11:35 PM. |

The situation that I felt more scared was when the father of a boy we had the hots for chased my sister and I from the property with a gun.
He fired it in the air, but we were sure he was going to shoot us. The actual scariest moment was when one of my mother’s ex fellas lunged at me with a ruddy sword. Bloody nutter. |

I used to get pretty anxious at work when people were making physical threats but (*******ing sadly) you get used to it pretty quickly and realise that 99% of people are all bark. Someone would have to pull a knife to even phase me these days
Tbh the most scared I've ever been was when my daughter went out with a couple of her friends (who are sisters) and then about an hour later I saw the two girls driving off with their parents. My daughter is supposed to tell us if she's off playing with someone else / elsewhere and hadn't, and I couldn't find her. But turns out she was with another kid and had come home to tell me and I wasn't there, as I was looking for her, and we were just constantly missing each other (they would wander down one street just as I turned the corner of another, etc.) but yeah I was pretty convinced she'd been abducted . I think most parents have one of those stories though. I swear it's scarier than being in personal danger . I was also in quite a few "bad situations" as a teen but I thought I was literally invincible back then so I wasn't scared. In hindsight, there are a few times that I really should have been. |

Oh and the only time I've ever been properly "shook" was when I was walking home from University with my mind miles away, and I wandered into a road and was almost hit by a bus. It was doing like 50 and it literally skimmed my coat . I was messed up for weeks about that, haha.

My dad had a heart attack when I was up in Manchester. This was in November, and during the snow of 2016. Every train was delayed by about two hours, and the journey was over 4 hours on a good day, and my phone battery was dead, so I had no idea what was going on, and I was still in recovery myself from a tumour removal.
He's fine, but as far as I knew it was a race against the clock. |
