no it does not as most of those questions were probably asked by people too young to vote unless you know otherwise?

The outright lies told by both sides were horrendous tbh.

Both, I would say tbh.

I find this 'leavers did not know what they were voting for' argument a bit daft, yes many didn't, and it shows by the kind of things they say now about it all (eg. my parents fell for the NHS thing) however, lots of nremainers did not know really.

I voted remain, but at the time was so confused by all the misinformation that I pretty much only voted to keep the staus quo, as better the devil you know

i think people are missing the point. leave.eu was a russian sponsored campaign to create havoc in the uk/europe ... and it was very successful.

If you ask voters after a general election if they knew what they were voting for, very few would be able to answer yes. With all votes, you are voting for a future you hope may come to pass, which is completely nebulous. The referendum was no different.

Well quite. Mind I do tend to research for general elections, but most of the stuff in manifestos is bollocks, except the stuff that would disadvantage the public, which always seems to get passed

Really really do NOT want a general election anytime soon, and its looking quite likely. I would have to spoil my ballot tbh, as none of them are worth voting for :/

Also good point about the Russian interference BOTS. I believe the russians actually have 'troll farms' where they purposely try to sway the public on certain things too.

...the Referendum voting can’t really be compared to any general election voting...it’s not an accurate comparison as how many votes in any of our lifetimes has there been to decide on our position in or out of the EU...only one...and probably only ever will be one in our lifetimes...

So you have no actual argument then? The amount of fake news, doctored footage and straight up lies that came from the Leave camp is staggering but your only response is that 'well, let's ignore all that and pretend that most voters are informed!'

Again, prove to me that people are informed instead of going 'REEEE! REMAINERS!' I've put forth my argument, I've highlighted how prevalent fake news is especially regarding the leave campaign so if you have a counterpoint beyond crying about Remainers then by all means, Livia, offer it up.

So you won't assume that voters are typically uninformed but you'll believe that the people asking what the EU is are automatically remainers? Such rampant hypocrisy.

It's quite a common thing. It's usually used in response to people being ahem 'snowflakes' about social issues but I find it often suits the other side better.

Let's face it, leaving the EU does not make any economic sense, it's all about politics and visceral dislike of the EU. And some delusion about sovereignty. No country bound by any international agreements is fully sovereign.
But I'd rather work with and within Europe, our nearest neighbours, and decide things together than go it alone and have larger partners dictating things to me. Like it's happening now with the EU dictating to the UK. So much for the EU begging us for a deal It will be China and the US next.

I was illustrating how pointless underscore and his sourceless graphic was, you have missed vthe point in your rush to score a pyrrhic point

The US have said if we screw up the border in Ireland there won't be a trade deal.

Even if Theresa May does step down or gets ousted, that doesn't warrant a general election. We don't vote for the PM, we vote for the MP for our constituency. The PM represents the party with the most MPs.

Struggling to see the link between people believing lies from the campaign to people not knowing what they were voting for. There's a difference
