I presume these people are British though not Chinese?

Yes, I expect they are. Because a protest like this would never be allowed in China. So maybe target their embassy. At least then some Chinese people will see it, despite China's control of the web.

The Blue Planet nearly broke the Internet in China and since then, groups of Chinese people have got together to think about how they can reduce waste and clean up the oceans. Pressure groups such as these are not usually allowed in China, but I think the government gauged the strength of feeling about the pollution of the oceans and have allowed these groups to meet. We need more of that. Once people know the problem and know what they can do, they'll do it, mostly. And I think the UK is already very aware both of the problem and what we can do about it.

Why do you want British citizens to target China instead of their own home country, where they actually have a say in changes and policies? Surely the Chinese need to protest their own government?

people can protest here all they like, but the UK is much more eco friendly than the USA, China or India, so it makes sense to target their countries by protesting at their embassies

I'm not saying you aren't, it's just I think each countries own citizens need to worry about themselves. That's the best way to get real changes imo

Well, like I said, the Chinese people don't get the information we do. And I just picked China because they have billions of people, they are a major polluter and when their people know about the pollution, they try to do something.

I wouldn't like to see the carnage a protest about the Chinese government, actually IN China, would cause.

I've written to the Chinese embassy on several occasions covering human rights, animal rights and the destruction of the coral reefs. There's nothing to say you can't target the people causing the most problems.

Just a personal opinion.

Of course not but targeting your own country/government shouldn't be poo poo'd just because China is worse either imo If we were only ever allowed to target worst cases, nothing would ever get done

It's not just about that though , Do you use plastic ? do you drive or ever go in a car etc? do you recycle everything ? I could go on . You cant just snap you fingers and it all goes away , what we have done to the planet will take hundreds of years to put right if ever.

Exactly, people are very keen to put down other peoples attempts to help by making out unless they're 100% perfect then they can't have a voice. But you drive a car seems to be a favourite one to try and shut people down

we here in our country have 2 different garbage bins

Green (for garden trash) and Grey (for regular in house trash)

and we also got a bottle and a paper recycle bin near where we live in the street

so our trash already gets separated

How dare they try and make their voices heard, just stick to parenting, dumb women

It’s a shame people are put down for trying to make a difference

I hate what we are doing and have done to the planet, but I don't think protesting does much good , much rather go down to one of the beaches etc and clean what I could up , or just get litter picking, I do my bit if I can that is all I can do, yes I drive out of necessity but that's it ,my kids walk to school and the one who is too little goes on the school bus, no one is perfect and we cant help some of the stuff that happens, but imo if we all did our bit, or at least tried,it would be good, if people want to go protest that is up to them, but I hope they don't leave the mess behind the other lot did.

..I think because not everyone does do their bit and has been doing their bit over time and because there is too much pollution and health issues and too little thought etc...sometimes it has to be spoken out about though, which is what is happening today...

Beg pardon Nick but come on. No-one sensible would deny we need to change our ways, but not even the moronic AOC believes we'll all die in 11-12 years.

This "protesting is pointless because other people exist in the world" is hilarious.

Mothers demand action against pedophillia - pointless, America has more than we do so protest them instead.

Mothers demand action against unsmoked Bacon - but Denmark make loads of Bacon
