This type of comment really doesn't make a great argument for it imo, a forum needs discussion to work and hold peoples interest not just clicking a button when you like a post, what would be better than just posting I agree would be posting along the lines of 'I agree with this because...' and adding to the threads with your own personal thoughts and input.

Having said that, I'm not completely against the idea, although I did mention before that rather than a like button I think tibb would benefit more from reaction buttons.

I'm sure James said last time we spoke about it that he would look into it when he had some time.

Thanks for your comments everyone. Intrigued by Josys mention of reaction buttons. Could be good.

I’m on one for some design stuff that has a like button, it doesn’t really kill the discussion, like for instance if someone was doing a ranking thread or like showing what they’ve found somewhere it’s kind of motivating them to do more if they know the posts are being appreciated? Idk really how to describe it lmao.

Like posts that are usually appreciated but like not replied to can be appreciated, bc let’s be real there’s none of that posting where it’s just ‘i agree’ or ‘[2]’ anymore it’s just like a positive bonus feature

I do really like the idea of reaction buttons actually!

An "aye rright" and "your erse is oot ra windae"

Reaction button would be good

a like button is the equivalent of an ego stroke ( a bit like most loved). It will encourage people to post things to get likes and it is a conversation/discussion killer. Popular topics will just disappear because people choose to click like rather than actively participate.

Would you like reaction buttons instead? Or nothing at all?
