Nice article, but what about all the people offended by both comments?

When do they get a look in and a chance to comment?

Whenever they want. They better put on some cotton wool gloves though as a safety precaution

What about all the acid attack victims that are upset by her comments, I'm assuming they have had enough of cotton wool gloves!

People can and will get upset by jokes, its not new. It’s probably best to avoid comedians forever though. And films and television just to be safe. Each person needs to work out how much of a protective bubble they want or need.

I don't even think it was a joke though, and I think it's only fair that it can be flipped round by simply exchanging the face of the person who had the milkshake chucked over them with someone else...Let's say the current mayor of london...and then have donald trump tweet what jo brand said....

as in, you didn’t find it funny or you’re fully expecting Jo Brand to lob battery acid over Farage?

Obviously it’s not on at all what Jo Brand has said but when Jess Phillips was described as “too ugly to rape” and Danny Baker called the royal baby “a monkey” there were people pissing themselves dripping. Why is it different now the political leanings have switched?

As a stand out comedian for generations it was tired at least, hatefilled and inciteful at most...but I can guarantee if she hadn't said it and someone had tossed acid over tommy robinson or farage she would have had a warm inner glow at the thought.

That’s an incredibly presumptious thing to say off the back of a bad joke. Would equate to Farage having a warm inner glow if a group of remainers were shot down by a rifle. I’m sure neither is true.

She's been bitter all her life, I will take my opinion from that...he's a man for a start.

I mean, bitter is a pretty great adjective to describe Farage too. Doesn’t make him a sadistic monster either.

yeah, it's their own choice what jokes they want to make, how inappropriate or misplaced they are

freedom of speech is very important honestly, without it it would feel like a dictatorship no offense

I’m not for censorship of comedy or even stupid unfunny comments that are supposed to be comedy.
I’m not for her being disinvited from the BBC either.
Comedy is supposed to be the last bastion of so called free speech in this country.

However,I think what leaves a bad taste in people’s mouths is the hypocrisy of the left wing bias in the media.
The beeb will protect Brand because she’s a money maker.
Comedy shows like Live at the Apollo only ever have lefty comedy.TV in general doesn’t do right wing comedy because it’s not ‘woke’ enough. You have to go online for that.
Left wing comedians can get away with far more controversial material and get the London champagne socialist audience laughing like nodding dogs at violence directed at their nemesis politicians who espouse different opinions.

Very true.

People love to be offended now and shout about it on Twitter because their offence is oh so important and everyone needs to know about it.’Something must be done because I’M offended’.

Social media has given people a massive sense of self importance.

If this was Frankie Boyle who'd said it he'd probably have a sold out tour or something and everyone would be pissing their pants!

Can't get over the BBC airing it, that was an oversight.

Sick comment, but arrested? Nah.
