As long as people went there by choice, and if it wasn't a publicly owned thing, and if they were treated humanely. But we have no reason to think it is.

...I can’t do the ..’it’s better than nothing..’...thing...that could be said about anything to defend regression or inadequacy ...is this the face of social housing...these type of hostel living conditions should never be more than a temporary stop gap if that became a necessity...but the article is saying that in this borough...children born in these hostels are still living there at school age...

We need to ask the Mayor where all this extra social housing is that he promised, he is too busy promoting himself as the new Labour leader to worry about it. Hopefully when we get the opportunity to kick him out next year, we will get a pro active Mayor not one who trots out platitudes and tweets and shows no action whatsoever

Yes the London Mayor wants more housing
but today on SkyNewsHD Burley Breakfast show
like Cherie stated he is wanting Corbyn in power
to get better funding etc.

Hard for you maybe ... try thinking more laterally.
Why was the workstation the main portion of the description? It came before everything, the laundrette, the WiFi, communal areas and play facilities for the children don't even get a mention... why?

What about the one you had that wasted 800 million on an imaginary bridge... he's now prime minister!!
Councils hands have been tied as to what funding can and can not be used for house building. Like everywhere else London is overstretched underfunded.

the main portion of the description?

it just happened to be first on the list...

actually 24-hour security is a longer word, if we are really thinking laterally, not having a place to do homework has long been an issue in B and Bs where families are confined to one room with no other space.....maybe that's why it got top billing....how's that for lateral thinking...the descriptors are what will be available in addition to accommodation, its a step up from B and Bs, and if it keeps families in the area close to work, family, friends, rather than dispersing them round the country how is that a bad thing, the only issue for me is that this should be a temporary stop gap, but again I refer to the Labour Mayor to maybe give a hand with that one...

It will be fitted with workstations, a launderette, 24-hour security and free wi-fi.

The Mayor has his own budget...what is he using it on?

Councils hands aren't that tied Kizzy , when they can afford to have their massive offices refurbished, their fleet of vans painted with logos and glossy calendars to all tenants who invariably don't use them so they go in the recycle bin , they waste a lot of money that they are given, not much of it actually goes into tenants housing etc from what I am told.
