Apparently just one week after a third of French schoolchildren went back to school ( easing of the coronavirus lockdown ) there have been a flurry of about 70 Covid-19 cases linked to schools.

Bit more info Just a week after one-third of French schoolchildren went back to school in an easing of the coronavirus lockdown, there has been a flurry of about 70 Covid-19 cases linked to schools. Some schools were opened last week and a further 150,000 secondary school students went back to the classroom on Monday as further restrictions were loosened by the government. The move initially spelled relief: the end of homeschooling for many hundreds of thousands of exhausted French parents, many of whom were also working from home. But French education minister Jean-Michel Blanquer sounded the alarm on Monday, telling French radio RTL that the return has put some children in new danger of contamination. He said the affected schools are being closed immediately. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Interestingly France chose certain areas to reopen their schools !!
This week France is reopening junior high schools in “green” regions less affected by the virus, which do not include Paris. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Sooooo on the Sophie Ridge show yesterday Michael Gove said that they’d signed up 17,000 ‘track and trace’ people yet in today’s briefing it’s suddenly 22,000 ?!?!

Looks like a lot of people actually caught the virus when IN hospital and the NHS failed to pass information on which could have saved lives.

It was on the ITV news at 6, They failed to pass the info of the virus onto other hospitals apparently, there was too much noise at mine to get everything but that was the gist of it, it was 'exclusive' news so it may be repeated on the later news.

So is this a political thing now ??
Where Labour councils will prevent their schools from following the Tory’s plea to reopen 1st June ?? At least 300 schools in England will ignore the government’s plans to open to more pupils on June 1 as several councils said it was not safe for them to do so. Liverpool, Hartlepool, Rochdale and Stockport councils have told parents that the primary schools they control will not be reopening to children from reception, year 1 and year 6 at the start of next month, as proposed by the government, with more local authorities yet to commit. The growing list of dissenting councils — most led by the opposition Labour party — emerged as a stand-off persisted between ministers and teaching unions demanding more information before accepting that it is safe to begin a phased reopening of schools for up to 2m children. The children of key workers have been able to attend schools through the coronavirus crisis. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

We've had an update from my sons school. They are a small one class per year intake and have today prepared the classrooms as per social distancing guidelines. They can fit 6 children plus one adult in each classroom and therefore cannot actually accommodate the number of children from the proposed year groups who wish to return.
The classrooms have all been stripped of all soft furnishing, toys and every bit of comfort that the young age group they are trying to bring back are used to. The classrooms look so sterile and cold. This is the reception class....

Yet Sky News just reported minutes ago that supposedly 22 countries have said sending schools back made no difference to the infection/ death rates ... even thought many of them haven’t been back long enough for any any effects to be showing ... No wonder we are all confused !! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
