Looks like they’re putting money before the safety of people. This is not a good idea and I can see a lot of accidents happening, London is extremely congested and we already have cyclists being hit by buses and cars, I’m failing to see the logic behind this decision.

They are used in public areas (around children and the elderly) and I’ve seen no policing for it

This means nothing. Reckless drivers passed safety tests before they were on the road

Privately owned scooters will still not be allowed on London's public roads, cycle lanes and pavements

As if anyone is going to follow these rules?! And even if the police were strict on this they have more important things to do

Helen Sharp, who is leading the project for TfL, said: "We're doing all we can to support London's safe and sustainable recovery from the coronavirus pandemic, and it's clear that e-scooters could act as an innovative, greener alternative to car trips."

Let me translate this for you: “TFL has lost a **** load of money from the pandemic and we need to think of ways to pay our debts no matter how dangerous it might be”

Take all those supped up death traps of the roads and replace them with safety limits ones.

Feel sorry for people in poorer areas though who wont be able to use their xmas presents anymore.
