Eurovision winners Kalush Orchestra have confirmed that a collaboration with the UK’s Sam Ryder is coming ‘quite soon’ and we can’t wait.
The Ukrainian act, who recently took on Glastonbury as their first ever gig in the UK, won this year’s song contest by a landslide, with Sam doing the UK proud and securing second place.
So, a collaboration between the pair sounds like an absolute dream.
While rumours have been circulating about a potential collab, Kalush Orchestra frontman Oleg Psyuk confirmed to Metro.co.uk: ‘[We] have already discussed this with him and we’re planning to release a music piece quite soon.
‘We’re eager for everybody to listen to it.’
Staying coy on the details, Oleg added: ‘It’s a secret but make sure to follow Kalush’s official Instagram, because that’s where all the updates will be released.’
Sam previously chatted about his hopes to collaborate with Kalush Orchestra, telling Sonny Jay on Roman Kemp’s Capital Breakfast Show: ‘Yeah, maybe. We’ve been chatting.
‘Because the build-up before the big night is two months long – you’re doing the pre-parties, which are basically like shows, mini-Eurovisions, that the fans absolutely are stoked about.
‘And yeah, so you get to know everyone, and we’ve been chatting for a while and sharing demos and stuff like that. So watch this space. Hopefully, I’d love to do something proper like guitar-heavy Beastie Boys with them, I think that would be sick.’
Oleg also opened up about the group’s slot at Glastonbury, which saw them join various other Ukrainian bands on the line-up.
‘I’m feeling a lot of responsibility because it’s very important to us to showcase the Ukrainian culture and just the sense of responsibility is huge,’ he said, ahead of the performance.
He added: ‘Our main goal is to perform well and for everybody to come, make sure you come and listen to our music and follow and support us.’
