For some reason people think that's how it should be eaten, and some seem to like it.

I have to say well done just to make sure it's cooked through.

Imo Meat has to either be deep freezed or cooked through traditional means.

Raw Meat is a health risk that nobody should risk imo.

It does look pretty rare but that'll be fine to eat, I'd normally go medium or medium rare if it's a fillet

i don't consider that steak anywhere close to rare. I used to like my steak incinerated but it was always dry. Medium for me is now ideal on the very rare occasions that i have a steak

I ordered smoked steak in Trader Vic's in the Hilton , Mayfair as a snack years ago. when itt arrived it was completely totally raw meat and inedible for me so when it came to the bill there was a massive row when i said i am not paying for raw meat and i wouldn't give my dog raw meat. I did not get charged but that meat i can still visulise. Well done steak for me.

As long as you dontt get that rubbery feeling in your mouth when you chew it, it should be ok.

A good steak done rare or medium rare should just melt away in your mouth without much effort. An expert can get the outside slightly over done to give it a crispy texture on the outside and still have the inside melt in your mouth, like a nice chocolate n soft caramel sweetie.

If you're going to eat a "brown" steak you might as well save yourself the money and have a plate of mince or a burger.

The one on the video does look a little on the "jellyish" side in the middle but medium/medium-rare is the way to go with a good steak.

Yes take it off at desired readiness and let it rest for a few minutes, keep the heat on under the pan until it's just about starting to smoke and then lob it back in there for 20 seconds to slightly char the outside. Perfect.

... ... I want a steak so badly now ...

I concur with the video that ribeye is the way to go, also. I only discovered that about 5 years back. All those years WASTED on sirloin or fillet.

I like my food to be practically incinerated, I always deliberately burn my chips etc

But anyway, rare meat - didn't Dr Lobsterlover start an all meat diet, and it made him go insane?

Because people have different preferences. Be a pretty boring world if everyone likes the same thing.

Plus it tastes better and you don’t spend half hour chewing it before you can swallow it.

If I'm having a steak at a good expensive steak house - No beefeater - I'll probably have no more then medium rare even for rump. Fillet would always be rare at a good place.

If its a random local pub - I dont eat steaks at random pubs - but if I did it'd medium minimum for any cut.

It depends on the quality of the restaurant and the quality of the steak.

For those who like their steaks burnt, steaks are probably not for you. Have the Hunters chicken with coleslaw instead

I saw a program on National Geo about modern day cowboys ..

It’s common for them when they are driving cattle from A to B to slaughter one in the evening .. cut it into portions .. then in the morning the guys put one of the pieces of meat UNDER the saddle.. so on the horse’s BACK !!

They ride all day then in the evening the cut of meat is warm , tenderised and seasoned with the salt from the horse’s sweat !!

I’ll stick to pie and peas !!
