So we need to stop people in a position of power or trust from abusing others
These cases keep coming to light My suggestion is this, a system needs to be set in place and made into law that when someone makes a complaint about someone to their bosses it has to be put on record and that record has to be sent to and independent body Failure from the bosses to comply will result in a prison sentence Am I right or wrong What’s your suggestions for stamping out the abuse. In principle I agree.
But the strength of Old Boys Networks, and people with ludicrous amounts of power in their fields ... accountability would "trickle down", and and the person taking the fall wouldn't necessarily be the one who's actually responsible. |

We keep seeing the bosses who knew of wrong doing but turned a blind eye again and again not get punished for basically allowing abuse to happen |

I don't trust the system enough to believe the right people would be punished. |

I'm obviously not saying that the enablers should be allowed to get away with it, but having a specific law meant to go after the enablers wouldn't be watertight enough to actually go for those responsible.

it requires a fundamental change in attitude and thats not going to happen for generations. Having a law here or there to address it is not enforceable

Let's (thankfully!) note that most allegations are historical. Obviously that doesn't lessen the impact for current ones, or mean there won't be more. I don't think we need be quite so defeatist. |

there isn't a metoo tide though, it was a metoo blip that is already self correcting. When metoo first started, men couldn't say boo, now look at it

Jessica Meuse was robbed.

But anyway I do agree with you that attitudes are changing towards trying to stamp this **** out, and I definitely think that there are creeps still in the entertainment industry, they're probably just better at hiding it now.
