I’m pretty pristine when it comes to how much I tolerate (or don’t tolerate) other people’s mess but in my own living space I’m a mix of clean and cluttered (so there’ll be essential oils, white vinegar, chamomile, bleach and baking soda to keep things spotless in that sense 7/10 but it won’t usually be terribly organised or structured) and the cleanliness part of it is the mentality I take with gloves. Bleach with raw hands is a massive cleaning red-flag so I’d pop them on regardless then but otherwise I only wear gloves when I’m tidying up other people’s crap. In my own space I’m alright to just use my bare hands.

I have to, cleaning chemicals take all the moisture from my skin and it literally cracks and splits

I don’t do the cleaning now. When I did I never wore gloves though.

You wouldn’t want to be getting bleach and ammonia all over your hands and skin in any case. Some people just get their OCD flatmates/neighbours or their wife/girlfriend to clean for them 9/10 anyway so won’t really know the intricacies (or even the basics) of why getting chemicals on your skin raw and direct isn’t such a brilliant idea but some people just chance it over the years until they get a reaction and that’s ultimately on them. But it sucks when you have to be extra-careful by default because of the way your skin is. It might be eczema or hives or it might just be a case of more sensitive skin than average but whichever it is it can be hard to do life without E45 and extra precaution.

For me, even washing up liquid does it, so bleach would damage them badly lol, sometimes it heals, but it always comes back

Yeah, bleach really has no place being anywhere near the skin directly. Definitely got to be careful with that one. Bleaching with raw hands isn’t really respecting your skin at the best of times, whether you have particularly sensitive skin or not.

Nah and I use bleach all the time... My hands are still nice and soft too. Maybe one day they'll fall off or whatever.
