"Biodiversity."

How woke of them to use that word.

But seriously, I'm not surprised at this stat tbh.

Well duh.

Keep destroying our green spaces for warehouses and housing estates, what do they expect?

There should be proper green protection laws put in place.

It’s all so sad …

We are so lucky virtually living where we are having vast areas of countryside and streams both all around - just 3 minutes walk away.

I will always remember how quickly things changed when we were in lockdown ( Covid) .. after about 3 weeks the local wildlife came out of hiding and when we were getting foxes and deer in our garden nearby park and seeing ducks and geese walking down the nearby streets-on our daily allowance of 1 hour walking ( crazy times)

I feel genuinely claustrophobic in most of England... there's just stuff EVERYWHERE. I grew up in Ayrshire which - yes, for sure - has its share of gross little towns, but it's like 90% green and quite flat (dairy farming land)... so from many vantage points, nothing but rolling hills and fields all the way to the sea. 'tis basically how I remember my childhood. Fields and sky. Ahh The Shire...

Where we live now we have woodland at the back of the house, and several woods within walking distance, and the broads, not seen one fox since we have lived here, used to see foxes all the time in Redbridge We do have some munjac deer in the wood and an Owl and bats I believe, not seen the bats yet, loads of rabbits but they live on a roundabout

We had bats in the attic here at one point and you're not allowed to have them removed . Luckily they left on their own and we got their access point thoroughly blocked.

[edit] You can regularly see 'em in the area on dark nights though - if you watch the street lights you never have to wait long to see a gross little shadow zipping past. COVID-tastic.
