Default Dear Diary ;- )

What are you up to today ? Working ? Playing ? Just cruising ? Waiting for something ? Looking forward to something ? Avoiding something ? Craving something ?

Today Skip, I'm going to be..............

Knackered!

I'm a Mon-Fri worker, so Saturdays for me are a haven of inactivity and slumping semi-conscious on the sofa. With any luck.

I awoke this morning at 6.30 and eventually staggered downstairs after a shower at about 8.

However I am about to launch into the jaws of the beast. I am going shopping in Nottingham. Guaranteed to turn this mild-mannered ROB into a manic wild eyed chuntering wreck.

Think of me and pray. Should I survive the horrendous experience I may return with a Christmas outfit, and return home to rustle up a pizza from the freezer and then adopt the aforementioned slumping behaviuor for the remainder of the evening.

I will then cringe my way through Pop Idol before lapsing into unconciousness on the sofa, being shouted at by OH and told to 'For God's sake go to bed if you are going to sleep'.

I will then drag myself upstairs, wash my face and grimace at the damage of the day on my once porcelain complexion as I clean my teeth.

After a liberal application of No 7 night cream for mature skin to my ageing countenance I will lie down clutching my Gabriel Garcia Marquez novel, determined to get past page 3 before I slip into unconsciousness. I will fail. My next moment of awareness will be as OH nudges me vigourously in the ribs and tells me to turn over as I am snoring loudly.

Is that enough information for you?

Dear Diary

I've had a nice lazy morning and have just come back from getting my hair done - something that was definitely long overdue.

After lunch I'm going around to my friend Diana's to help her set up her new pc and then later in the afternoon we are going over to her son's house and going to a fireworks display this evening.

Dear Diary,

I got off to a slow start today after ideas of getting up early. Oh well, theres always tomorrow....nah, make that Monday. I did my washing which is the only ritual I have on Saturdays. This is my first weekend with no Uni stuff to do, so I went shopping for some work shirts. I've got home and although happy with them, one is probably a bit too bright (blue)! I then did a spot of gardening which was nice considering the weather here has turned quite hot, mmmm maybe I'll get a bit of a tan again ! But the forecast for next week is way too hot (39 for three days !) which is all a bit early for normal. Tonight I've been to friends for dinner and conversation (nice) and now I'm home and its now turned to Sunday. Now I'm thinking I will sleep in, have an easy day unless someone comes round and drags me out ! And tomorrow night the world will stop here for an hour while I watch Australian Idol.

(oh and I'm keeping an eye on the Rugby ROB, I think it will be the All Blacks v England)

Not here it isn't Skip, it's presently 5:30 on Wednesday afternoon

I've been working from home today, but haven't got much done as I kept getting distracted with things I need to do to get ready for moving. SPoke to my solicitor a couple of times to find out how everything is going with the paperwork for the move and it all seems to be going swimmingly, I might even be moved by the end of the month - scarey though

I then decided I needed to go out and ended up at PCWorld speding money lol - bought a nice new flat screen monitor

Dear Diary

What a Thursday - spent the morning at work dealing with all the e-mails that had been stacked up because our system had been down for 24 hours. Every few minutes a little sign kept popping up. Broke my diet cos it was boss's birthday so it was cream cakes all round.

Half day so spent it catching up with my Christmas Card making - determined to send all home made cards this year. Felt really proud of the results today.

Decided to treat OH and made a pork and apple casserole with cider and rice - his favourite. Now just think I will drop a few hints about that Christmas present I want.

Well I've had a horribly frustrating day. Anyone who saw the news reports about the horrid accident on the A40 with the overturned lorry and the 2 bmws, well I was caught in the resulting traffic chaos. It took me 4 hours to get to my client this morning - it should have taken me about 45 mins. I was not a happy bunny.

It wasn't much better on the way home either - even though I went a completely different way to avoid the jam as the A40 was still closed - unfortunately I think everyone else decided to do the same

I'm moving from London to just north of Manchester, which is quite a long way. Its all very traumatic, but will be worth it in the end (I hope)

I'll keep the sparkler in mind for next year Stu. Good luck in your shift Lee and in your card making and diet BB.

Dear Diary,

Well another weekend is almost over and I really don't know where its gone. I have done nothing, well thats how it feels. The storm clouds are building up outside and looks like we might be in for a rough night. I've got the candles out and ready. Hope everyone has a good week.

Dear Diary,
I really am a country girl and Saturday proved that! I went to London yesterday via Steam train from Bristol Templemeads had a lovely breakfast, lunch and on the way back dinner, even though the train broke down on the way back and we had to wait for about 2 hrs before we were moving again. Once we got to London we met my Uncle who took us for a drink near Oxford Street and then proceeded to take us along Oxford Street to Debenhams where my mum wanted to shop. I tell you I hate shopping at the best of times(yes a woman who hates shopping ) but I hated it even more yesterday, Oxford Street was a nightmare, I'd never seen so many people and one nice gentleman BLESS HIM tried to pick pocket my Dad what a lovely young man he was I was quite happy to get back to Paddington station to get the train home. Note to self: NEVER go to London to shop just to site see Other than that though a great Saturday and would go to London again but as I have said only to site see.

Dear Diary,

Went out for a meal last night with the work crowd. A great night that had a late start as everyone couldn't leave the TV screens as England and OZ were all tied up at 17/17. England broke the deadlock, much to the disappointment of many......but not me !!! I was rapt to see England win....though I was disappointed the All Blacks didn't get through. Oh well, 4 years time.

I seem to have wiped out my post so I will do it again.

Dear Diary,
I have been buying a sofa with OH. We have spent a fortune on furniture over the past 3 years. There comes a time in life when EVERYTHING has to be replaced.
The question is , Who is going to replace what next?? Will OH replace me or I him? Best not to go down that road at this time....much too contraversial.
Anyway... I did a recce yesterday. The motorway was empty as everyone was at home or at Rugby clubs watching the Rugby.Today there was SOOOOOO much traffic. Everyone was out doing what they didn't do yesterday LOL
