Big Brother to show contestants enter house on live TV
Viewers will be able to see the Big Brother contestants enter the house live on TV for the first time. Channel 4 will be broadcast the 12 contestants' first moments together in the house. The channel and its digital offshoot E4 will again be sharing coverage of the goings-on in the Big Brother household. E4 will present live coverage, 20 hours a day, along with the fanzine show Big Brother's Little Brother, which will be shown five times a week. On Sunday afternoons, Channel 4 will host a special edition of the fanzine show, with host Dermot O'Leary interviewing newly evicted housemates. The nightly 30-minute highlights shows will continue on Channel 4, with the Tuesday shows including the names of the two contestants who will be up for eviction at the end of the week. Big Brother is due to start at the end of May. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Whew! It's all moving today! Interesting to see that Big Brother's Little Brother will be shown on Channel 4 on Sundays - that's good news for people without Sky Digital. Oh god, when am I going to find time to watch all this! |

The bad news is that it looks like they are charging for watching it on the Internet.
There's a bit about it here: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/displayarticle.php?id=7270 If I had broadband (and broadband quality was available) I might pay for it mind you. |

Thanks for spotting that, James.
Well, I don't think I'll be bothering to pay for the live streaming. I'm lucky enough to have E4 on Sky Digital so that should suffice for me. Is Endemol getting too greedy now, I wonder? |

The last two times they entered arund 9 ish x I have ntl and has long as you have e4 you WILL get the same coverage as everyone else,
the one thing ntl didn't have last year was the interactive feature of selecting a camera angle and to go back in time 4 hours - but you never know it might this year x |

Taken from the digital spy article - see James' posting for the link
"On Sky Digital, the application will allow viewers to select between four feeds; views one and two will show two different streams of live coverage from the house. the third will show highlights from the past 24 hours in the house, and the fourth view will show the "most memorable moments" from the current series. Again, viewers will be able to vote through the application for the evictee; the choices will be available as soon as Big brother announces the nominees. During non-eviction periods, there will be an opportunity to vote in special opinion polls. A text ticker running across the bottom of the interactive screen will carry all the latest news as it happens, as well as comments from celebrity writers. Viewers will also be able to text in their messages which could appear in the ticker. The application will also feature full programme listings and a Big Brother quiz. Telewest Active Digital customers will have access to two video screens showing live footage from the house, as well as an information ticker, the ability to vote and keep track of the latest news. ntl:home subscribers will get one video feed showing live coverage, and will be able to vote and read the latest news in the information ticker." So ..... basically what you get differs depending on your provider of digital access. |
