John Sergeant survives ANOTHER week in Strictly as M People's Heather Small is eliminated
John Sergeant survived for another week on Strictly Come Dancing, despite a further battering by the show's judges.

He performed the cha cha cha. Judge Bruno Tonioli said: 'John you're a charming personality, but even you have to admit your dancing stinks.' Another judge, Arlene Phillips added: 'You are outstanding at dancing really badly.'

Head judge Len Goodman, said to Sergeant: 'The viewers like you, but they make a mockery of the show by keeping you in.'

Despite being given the lowest score by judges, Sergeant was not even in the bottom two allowing him to escape a dance-off which would have placed him in danger of being booted off.

The judges have been confounded and angered by Sergeant's success which has surpassed Kate Garraway's record last year.

The GMTV presenter was also slated for her performances but the public voted to keep her on for seven weeks.

Sergeant has now survived eight shows.

Singer Heather Small, 43, became the eighth celebrity to be voted off the hit BBC show after a dance off with former S-Club star Rachel Stevens.

Many were amazed to see Stevens, 30, in the bottom two after being widely praised by judges for her performances over the weeks including her version of the American Smooth on Saturday night.

Soul singer Miss Small was also given positive comments for her Tango.

This contrasted with the reaction to 64-year-old Sergeant's latest routine, which saw him placed bottom of the table by judges.

Of his cha cha cha, Bruno Tonioli said on Saturday night: 'It stinks'.

Head judge Len Goodman, who began the series saying how much he like Sergeant, was even more critical.

He told the journalist after his routine: 'The viewers like you, but they make a mockery of the show by keeping you in.'

Despite this, the combination of the viewers votes and judges’ scores left Miss Small and her partner Brian Fortuna to battle with Miss Stevens and Vincent Simone on Sunday night.

Miss Stevens and her partner were saved by three of the judges who all voted for them to stay in the competition.

This left head judge Len Goodman to comment on the couples rather than vote.

He said:'I did agree with the other judges, but that last Tango was the best I’ve seen Heather dance. Well done.'

John Sargeant's Barmy Army kept him in for another week ........those judges take things too seriously, NONE of the celebs are real dancers, but SOME of them have done some dance training before.........why don't the judges point THAT out too??

He wasn't THAT bad this week, and Heather should have gone weeks ago anyway.

Heather may not have been all that good but John can't dance for toffee aples. In fairness to the others working hard to compete John should now be voted out..
