JAVELIN ace Steve Backley is to star in the next series of I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.
The three-time Olympic medallist and former world record-holder, 35, is in talks to join the jungle trial in November.

Steve has won two silvers and a bronze in past Olympics and competes in his final Athens qualifiers tonight.

He is a favourite for the I’m A Celebrity line-up which includes model Emma Noble and chat host Nicky Campbell.

Soccer star Paul Gascoigne will only take part if he is not busy working for his new club Boston. Rebecca Loos is also on the wish list.

A show insider said: “Producers think stories from Steve’s career will interest viewers.”
