A school in nottingham sent letters to parents saying that the nativity play is delayed until new year due to eid. Been in the papers, news, radio etc. The problem is that "PC" can be taken to far and used for no reason. Some councils go too far just to avoid upset.. Upset that was never there in the first place.
lol you want to force Muslim kids to act an a nativity play? You are truly amazing. You hide your islamaphic rasist hate behine a cry of "political correctness gone mad!!".
Is that an example of the type of "upset that was never there in the first place". Your prob is that they are finding a voice... and you don't like it. This isn't about political correctness at all... it's your favourite moslem hate rant again.

lol his nottingham story sounds like it probably happend. But the spin he puts on it is wild. I'm sure the other story about the cop stopping a drunk car passenger was true too but the spin he added was about guessing the police officer's motivation.... which he wasn't privy to. Seems unlikely given the cop didn't need any more reason than the guy being a drunken idiot.
Andyman is spinning the truth to make a racist argument seem logical

Yeh the spin the papers put on this is wild enough without everyone else!

The one show(BBC1 programme) recently looked into some of this, like the winter tree thing and changing christmas to the "winter" festival and they found it doesnt happen anywhere

I'd like to interject.

A lot of people like to shout about how "muslims are coming here and changing things".

However, there used to be a shop near me which was owned and run by an Indian man who was muslim and did not celebrate Christmas.

His shop was the only one in this area which sold traditional Christmas cards with the nativity scene on it. All the other shops had cartoon santas etc.

Doesn't that show in this instance at least, that this particular gentleman was willing to provide a service to the people in the community in which he lived, even though he did not celebrate Christmas in his culture? Doesn't it also show a willingness to integrate into a multi-cultural community without changing things to suit either party?

A lot of the "PC" stories are blown out of all proportion to cater to the whimsical notions of the closet racists, and to attempt to create a racist mindset in the general population.

I'm not buying it.

Name calling is against the rules, please read the rules. Political correctness is real and is not all about race. Problem is that PC can go too far, some just want to please others without using common sence, at times that is thrown out of the window. There is good points and bad points with political correctness. By calling me names and saying i'm part of the bnp just shows that some have a mob mindset without being grown up about the subject, not ever have i made this into a race topic, that is comming from others. If i question political correctness does that make me a racist? If i disagree with a council calling christmas lights "winter lights" a racist? Lets all walk on egg shells due to the PC MOB.

Of course he stocked them to make money. He's a shopkeeper.

However, it shows in this instance, that he doesn't have any desire to bring his culture here and get rid of ours, as is suggested by some.

Andy, I'd just like to clarify that I haven't actually said you are a racist at any point in this topic. However, I have referred to people in general who are.

Thats not what I meant. Maybe there was no more thought behind his decision than to make money. You act like it was some grand gesture. Maybe it wasnt?

No, on the contrary, I'm not saying it was a grand gesture for him to do that.

I'm saying there was no grand gesture to "not" do it, if you understand.

He never made any politcal or any anti-Christian stand.

He lives here, and he just goes about his business and fully accepts that we all have different cultures.

It wouldnt be very smart of him to make an Anti-Christian stand in this country. My point is maybe money is all there is to it. He made no religious stand simply becasue it would have gotten in the way of making money .

I see your point, and I'm at a slight advantage, having known the man for several years.

But, I think he represents the majority of Muslim people in this country. Some news reports would have us believe "they are coming to take over the UK", but like I said before, I'm not buying that. All of the muslim families I know (which, admittedly is not a huge amount) are perfectly ordinary law-abiding citizens who have no desire to change anything about the UK.

I think news reports blowing things out of proportion are very dangerous to be honest. And getting back to the original point of this topic, I think Political Correctness is fine when it's used right alongside common sense. I also think it's unwise to assume someone will be offended when half the time they clearly are not.

There are quite a lot of examples of PC gone mad. Many schools across the country are now calling history his'n'herstory. I don't think women are ever going to complain that it is called history, but now it is called his'n'herstory it has brought an uneccesary light on the situation. PC causes more harm than good IMO.

Sorry ... you can't spell "becuse" twice and then add a in the same post... it is way too funny

Firstly are you saying the police systematically remove the English flag on the grounds of racism.... that's ridiculous. Police aren't in the business of enforcing political correctness. Here's your guide... if a policeman is enforcing something that you deem "political correctness" then your probably talking about something for which a law already exists...eg racial hate crimes, freedom of religion and freedom to not have other peoples religion forced down your neck etc.... and your just confusing their motive to lessen the accusation of you being a racist. Good luck with that.
Second.. he provided no link.
Third.. if the police stopped a guy for being drunk and probably leaning half way out of a car then that's what he got charged for ... not "becuse" he had the flag in his hand too.
Fourth Andy says the police put forward the reasoning for warning the guy was due it being "politically incorrect" and may be seen to be racist. lol...Why would they even bother with any explanation given that they have the guy on being a drunken fool screaming and half hanging out of a moving car. The Police didn't give any such "political correctness" reasoning.... andy made that part up.

Lastly
"that is why the united kindom flag is shown more that the english flag manily becuse of history hunderds of years ago"

Rubbish ... your saying the british flag is shown more than the English flag due to political correctness and the need to not offend those that suffered in the crusades. hehe OMG.... your hilarious, you hate foreigners so much that you make up reasons to get angry about. You ought to take a tip from Andyman. Just bounce from one hopeless example to another. When it falls to pieces just ignore any logic and with a single sentences move on to yet another fantasy example he's being storing away in his head.

yeah I agree ...
We all know that political correctness can get crazy but half the stories are just made up. And honestly I could give a monkey's. I mean who gets "enraged!!" about "policeman" versus "policeperson" or whatever. Besides A lot of this stuff is reverting back to the normal names anyway.
Then there are stories of political correctness that come from Andyman that are rooted in racism. Funny how many of his politcal correctness examples revolve around black and asians brits.
