Default \"Chav\"

We hear the world all the time but what does the word really mean?
Is it to label a type of person?
When you hear or see the word chav what comes into your mind?

Is this meant to spring into some sort of debate at a later date? Their Chavs. Like butter is butter, and like gold is gold.

Its a word. Not a fact. Words tend to be flexible. Some people dont take it as an insult, some do. Some see it as a mindset, some see it as a fashion statement. You can see it as a way to say 'Hi!' to the postman if you like.

True, and that is what I am getting at, but it can be used as an insult also. Not amogst Chav's, mind you, but amongst non-Chavs, as in ''those bloody Chavs on the street corners...''

I suppose chav is an offensive word... I wouldn't want to be labelled as a chav. A chav to me is the scum of the country, the people making our country look dirty. Loud music playing in the bus, swearing in the town center at the top of their voices, drunk on our streets, throwing insults at passers by. The world would be better without them.

A chav is like a failed gangster...

No, he is right. Pretty much everything he named their I have seen Chav's partake in. Yes, not all Chav's, and yes, some people who play loud music and get drunk on the streets and all that are not all Chav's, but a lot of them are.

I don't know where you live but that doesn't happen where I live. I missed out the wearing of trackies, hair gelled to their heads, and constantly smoking weed. A chav to me, in my opinion, when tbh there is no specific definition of chav, but chavs to me are the pathetic useless people that take money from the dole and never have a job and they live to make everyones lives worse.
