Jade Goody, the cancer-ravaged reality television star, has chosen to be buried in a flower-filled churchyard near her Essex home. The 27-year-old has opted for a traditional burial at St John The Baptist in Buckhurst Hill, Essex, and has requested that the service be a cheerful "big celebration" of her life. The ceremony will be conducted by the church's minister, Corinne Brixton, who recently christened Goody and her sons Bobby and Freddy. The Big Brother star has also asked that a 21-car cortege make its way to the funeral at the 180-year-old church from Bermondsey, south London, where she grew up. The Rev Brixton told the Daily Star newspaper: "Jade really loves this church." Goody's publicist, Max Clifford, 65, said: "She wants everybody to be there, with plenty of room outside for screens. "She wants it to be a big celebration because it's her final farewell to everybody. "It will be a very Jade Goody event, exactly the way she wants it." The church is also close to the hearts of her new husband Jack Tweed's family and is the nearest to their home in Buckhurst Hill. Goody, who was diagnosed with cervical cancer last summer, discharged herself from hospital last week so she could die at home in Upshire, Essex. Her condition worsened rapidly last weekend and since then she has been heavily sedated and drifting in and out of consciousness as she nears the end of her cancer battle. She had told relatives that she did not want her sons to see her on her deathbed and instead had an emotional meeting with them on Sunday. However, it has been reported that Bobby, five, was taken to his mother's bedside on Wednesday night by Goody's mother, Jackiey Budden, after crying that he wanted to see her. Her children have been staying with their father, Jeff Brazier, 29. A family friend told The Sun newspaper: "Bobby is just old enough now to understand he doesn't have long with mummy. "He has been asking why they are not staying at the house with her and he just wants to see his mum." |
