CHEAT ROBERTO DUMPED


BIG Brother's Italian stallion Roberto Conte was dumped by his English fiancee for secretly dating an old flame.

The fiery Big Brother star, 32, went out with beautiful Sue Lindley-French for seven years after they met on a beach near his Italian home.

The couple became engaged and finally settled in teacher Sue's home town of Sheffield in 1995.

But devastated Sue called off their wedding plans five years later after discovering that he was also seeing ex girlfriend Antonella Lombardi, 30.

Roberto and Antonella became teenage sweethearts after meeting when they were both 18.

But the lovers were forced apart because Antonella's family insisted she got engaged to somebody else. Roberto's elder brother Filippo Conte, 34, said: "Roberto had frozen his love for Antonella for ten long years. But she was always in the back of his mind. He could not resist her when he met her out of the blue in Liverpool at a party thrown by one of their mutual friends."

Yesterday Sue's sister Ann Lindley-French said: "They became engaged but Sue later discovered that he had become involved with someone else. She was heartbroken because she adored him."

Sue yesterday admitted: "Another woman was involved. He was just too close to her."

Yesterday Antonella, who now lives in Liverpool, had returned to Italy for a holiday.

She admitted she knew Roberto but denied she had dated him.
