He is a really careful driver. He has only just passed his test so he wants to look after his licence and not get any points.

He would tell his mum that wouldn't he - and she probably thinks the sun shines out of his gluteus maximus - but statistically, a teenage boy just passed his test, all suggests he was acting like a prat and trying to impress!
Also - don't see any mention of someone else being to blame!

Or maybe his mum has seen him drive and he is a careful driver?

Maybe he just happened to lose control, you know, like what happens sometimes. It's not always down to stupid driving for Christ sake.

But of course, in your mind he is a child, and all children drive badly. And you complain about people offending women drivers...

Driving carefully and losing control do not belong in the same sentence - complete contradiction in terms!

Losing control suggests he was driving at speed and/or carelessly! You don't just lose control of a car - unless you were unfit to drive in the first place or you were driving carelessly!

Whilst he could have been at fault through youthful exuberance or stupidity, it matters not lets just be thankful he wasnt seriously hurt and hope this accident has in no way damaged this mans outstanding talent. Get well soon Floyd

To be honest, it seems like the seriousness of the crash has been exaggerated.

As to whether he is or isn't a good driver, none of us can actually comment on that since we haven't seen him driving.

He was probably plucking his eyebrows in the rear view mirror at the time.
