It's time for another one of these threads. Now the promotion has started and that we have 13 DAYS I would like to start this thread. So make your predictions, what will the launch get, what will the series average?

I know that CBB will follow but I think we should keep the two threads separated and make a different one after BB13 finishes.

BIG BROTHER 2 (2001): 4.5m
BIG BROTHER 3 (2002): 5.8m
BIG BROTHER 4 (2003): 4.6m
BIG BROTHER 5 (2004): 5.1m
BIG BROTHER 6 (2005): 4.6m
BIG BROTHER 7 (2006): 4.7m
BIG BROTHER 8 (2007): 3.9m
BIG BROTHER 9 (2008): 3.6m [inc. +1]
BIG BROTHER 10 (2009): 2.5m [inc. +1]
BIG BROTHER 11 (2010): 2.9m [inc. +1]
ULTIMATE BIG BROTHER (2010): 3.2m [inc. +1]
BIG BROTHER 12 (2011) 1.7m [incl. +1]

The latest CBB received 2.6m average (a rise of 900k from BB12), quite impressive considering CBB9 aired only 2 months after the end of BB12, and the finale got 3.4m.

After CBB9 jumped back from BB12s 1.7 million average im optimistic. Running straight after CBB8 ruined BB12s chances, this time around there has been a break.

BB12 I think may have been a one off as it was launched right after CBB8 with no promotion. If BB13 launches with around 3m, it could end up with around a 2.2m-2.4m average. CBB9 averaged 2.6m and the finale was watched by 3.4m, so it shows there is still life in BB.

If anything CBB10's ratings should suffer coming off the back of another series.

Its just not a good idea to have series one after each other as it takes something away from the previous one ie: the winner of BB13 will be forgotten about pretty much as CBB starts stealing their thunder.

1.54m would be realistic, I reckon. But to form a broader area, anywhere between 1.5 and 2.5m should do.

Look tha ratings were good in previous years but compare them to other channels aka estenders and x factor who get twice as many viewers.

BB was all about the press attention and thats what made it a phenomenom because the sun or any other tabloid could just grab a live image from live feed and make any story they want which caused viewers to gossip about it whilst reading their newspapers on the train or at the office and wanna switch on..

They could produce actual breaking news but now every bb story in the tabloids is a rehash of last nights episode.

Yea BB was big but what made it bigger was the tabloids which got people talking about it from all walks of life.

Now all we got is the daily star and their "sex den" stroies and fake headlines.

That's very true but you never know if this weather will be here come BB13. It may well be, though, so you're probably right.
