Did the Pants on the Ground song spread to the UK when it went viral here?
Youtube video

I love Adam, but I seem to get that song stuck in my head quite a bit when they show him walking around.

I believe he actually released a full single of it after the show.

Sadly, that's one of the reasons I dislike him. I don't mind seeing a guy's underwear band, but whole/half butt hanging out is not pretty. Does he really think he can get a girl with that?

And that perm? ugh - he needs a hair cut bcos it's so stupid.

He's like a wanna-be gangster - stupid hair, hanging trousers, and a middle-class, suburban accent.

I'm pretty sure once you go to prison for it, the "wanna-be" is awfully unfounded. You're comparing him to a British standard, but regardless of where his mother lives, his culture (not to mention his accent) is primarily American - hence that song I posted above. It's not written about a bunch of suburban wanna-be's, it's about a huge chunk of the male population of pretty much every metro area in the US. He's not suburban boy dressing like the guys in the video, that's the guy that used to be in the video, he just lives in a different country, now, and ended up on one of their reality shows with no clue what it's about.

Never really found it a problem. Can imagine why others who aren't used to it will find it annoying though.

No, it's annoying when you're used to it.

For example, going to the grocery store:
Hey, mom, that guy's pants are falling off
(I look up and see the guy with his shorts belted just above his knees giving my kid a dirty look for criticizing his fashion sense)

I'm not comparing him to a British standard of a thug or whatever. I'm in America and I know what American thugs sound like. His accent is that of a middle-class American kid, not a street kid.

Adam reminds me of a black American middle class guy who wants to act tough even though he's from a middle-class suburb - they try to act the part, even go as far as getting themselves thrown in jail/prison and waste their lives away. Go to any inner city - NY, LA, Chicago, Atlanta, whatever and see if they sound like Adam.

Darnell - the albino from a few seasons ago - has more of the American street accent.

Of course, middle class kids can be criminals just like everyone else, but his style of dress makes no sense. He seems more like a poser than a gangster.

The ones in Chicago do, as do the ones in Gary, Ford Heights, and Melrose. I can't speak to the other major metro areas, only the people I know. Someone having been in a gang or even in prison doesn't automatically mean someone is ignorant or can't form a complete sentence. That's more in line with the Hollywood stereotype.

Of course being in a gang does not make you ignorant. You have gang members who are very smart and enterprising - that's why some are so successful in what they do.

My statement was directly about Adam and Adam alone. IMO, the entire package does not make sense. Whatever - what do we all know anyway.
