Default Does BB14 Stand out to anybody now that time's passed?

Great series for me at the time, loved every second of it from start to finish - but looking back on it now, or trying to; I struggle to remember anything that really happened, most of the housemates have become a blur apart from Dexter. Dan, Jack & Joe and Gina - it's hard to remember any good tasks really, where as BB13 still has The White Room as a stand out memory.

All that stands out when I think back to BB14 was the house, because of how different it was at the time - I mean I'm not saying it was a rubbish series, but since it ended (with a horrendous winner) we've had one very below average celebrity summer series, and one absolutely fantastic celebrity series in January - which IMO topped BB14, all the way through that recent series I kept asking myself 'But is this better than the summer?' and it was in the end.

But for you lot, does BB14 really have anything that sticks out to you looking back on it?

No it was a pile of **** at the time and it's a pile of **** now

Terrible graphics, terrible series storyline, too much love crap, all the good housemates were evicted by week 4, terrible winner, people on this forum were hating on valuable housemates like Wolfy including those who go on about entertainment (and for Wolfy in particular there seemed to be a witch hunt just because she dared to be confident), rubbish twist, ugly diary room, people on here overrating the series, etc

Huge dip in quality compared to BB13

Yup. Mostly due to how bad the series before was though. CBB completely blew it out the water though and I remember vey little of it.

Not really, it was an average series at best. Way too overrated on here.

I continued to watch it in hope it would go back to how it was in its first four weeks. It never did though

It was great! Iloved it. So many twists and turns. Not the best winner, but the best second and third place ever!

I don't think it ever really hit a low point though. Sure, it went a bit dry, but things picked up with Dazle and Gina vs Hazel, the aftermath of cucumber gate, Sophie getting shafted and then evicted () and so on

CBB12 wasn't below average and BB14 was rather average. Below average if you take out Gina and Charlie

I liked it at the time aswell but I agree it hasn't aged well, it as pretty uneventful whereas I look back at BB13 and all the drama/arguments and realise how much better it was.

Sallie needed to stay longer meh

I didn't know BB13 was so appreciated on here, it's cool to see though.

Yeah, seems to have stuck as a fan-favourite, should never have averaged bloody 1.6 million viewers

How was it uneventful?

What about Daley getting thrown out, that infamous argument between Hazel and Gina in the bedroom.

The arguments between Charlie and Hazel, Dan and Jemima arguing about her daughter dying lol. That pause rewind task was brilliant aswell.

The only reason we think it is forgettable is because theres been 2 series since. If there hadn't been a series on since we would all still be talking about it and waiting for the next series but we don't get a chance to remember or appreciate a series anymore.

BB14 was so good in my opinion and stands out as a classic series.

For me it simply goes down in history for the fastest argument in BB history, took Gina literally about 19 minutes screaming at Sallie and swiping that beanie off her head lol.

The fact people are saying it hasn't aged well when it only ended just over 6 months ago either shows how fickle fans are or how ridiculous it is that Channel 5 throw out so many series a year.

I liked both BB14 & BB13 I can't decide which is better, the only thing that puts a negative on BB13 is Conor he was a *****

Back to the topic of BB14, the first week was amazing,Gina snatching Sallies hat, "Cheap Prime mark Shoes"

All the controversy in BB14 was so forced, because of BB going overboard with twists and outside information. I prefer natural flowing series.

well no because I said it was crap at the time. the dip in quality was noticeable after week 4

and you're having a laugh if you think bb14 was a classic. honestly I think you just want it to be good so badly that you believe it actually was

Well every series has arguments and memorable moments but overall, it was pretty tame.

I dont think it's because there's been two series since - Ii think there's a lot to talk about from BB13 and that was like 7 series ago, I just think it's because there's not much to talk about apart from Dazel and the love triangle, the dyanmics were pretty uninteresting too.

I agree with people who say it was too contrived and as good as housemates Gina and Dexter were, it was obvious they were faking a lot.

I'll probably re watch it in a few years or something but it's all a bit meh for now. Not the worst series but not the best.

Also, the way Hazel was villified was disgusting and Deana/Lydia > anyone in BB14.

Average stuff really

Whilst I agree that it might not be too memorable now, most series' end up being that way so I don't see it as BB14 being particularly poor. In fact, because of a few great housemates (mainly Callum and Sam tbh) I'd still stand by what I said during the summer - it was my favorite series since BB9. Twist, house decor, promotion, tasks and all that are important but ultimately it's the housemates that matter most to me and Callum was one of the greatest housemates ever.
