Much as I'd like to use that as an excuse to attack Mark, I don't think it was that offensive. Just an extreme comparison. Mind you, if Helen had said it...

Exaggerated example.
Not offensive really. I wouldn't say in poor taste either tbh. It was a fair statement IMO. Someone with no ability/skill in something going up against a professional in that area. Last edited by Marsh.; 22-07-2014 at 03:34 AM. |

Sad thing is I think he was referring to everyone else in his group and not himself

"Whitney's been reborn in the living room" was hilarious though. Last edited by Marsh.; 22-07-2014 at 03:39 AM. |

I didn't find it offensive.
I took it as a reasonable comparison to each groups skill set. Was great that they won too |

If evil Ashleigh or creepster Chris had said that then most people would have found it funny.

You post that as if everyone in this thread were condemning Mark for saying it.....have you read any of the thread besides the OP?

I usually find it's able-bodied people that get offended, they also make all the rules, which they think is best, they should spend a day or two in a chair before they make decisions.... it all goes over my head, I've been called all sorts over the years....Marks was just a throw away comment that any-one could have made, people are just too sensitive, always thinking people will get offended etc,...

Most offence about pretty much anything thing is taken by people "on behalf of" others.

When he made the comment, I thought Oh-oh.... I bet there are able-bodied people all over the country taking offence on behalf of disabled people... who probably laughed.

Yes people are uber sensitive, Mark didn't think anything of it so was not discriminating or mean to cause offence. I didn't even notice or even think It could be seen as offensive. It just made me chuckle It must be tiring for individuals to constantly be on the defence on whats proper or inappropriate to say everyday. |

I find calling Chris a creepster more offensive than commenting on wheeled furniture.
