Default Big Brother Fans furious over Ashleigh Nomination

Big Brother 2014 fans have reacted angrily to the announcement that Ashleigh Coyle will face eviction this week after being led to believe the Power Alliance had immunity.

As the Power Housemate, Ashleigh teamed up with Chris and Mark to decide who to put up for the public vote, with the trio nominating Steven, Ash, Pav and Zoe.

The Power Alliance was told that they’d be immune from eviction – an announcement that was also made to viewers, with a Channel 5 press release issued yesterday stating: “All Housemates in the Alliance will be immune from eviction.”

However, despite this, last night saw the nominees get the chance to swap one of themselves for a Power Alliance member. They saved Ash, before Ashleigh – who became the Power Housemate as a result of a free public vote – was put in the firing line.

Show bosses are now facing a furious backlash from viewers, who have bombarded the official Twitter and Facebook pages with comments accusing them of lying – while bbspy has also received scores of tweets protesting the twist.

“They are just making it up as they go along by the day,” said @FoxyRhino, and @LaLouKaLaLouKa fumed: “Ffs I’m not wasting my hard earned voting anymore”.

“This is ridiculous! How can they promise safety to the PHM and revoke it like that!” questioned @Werring_Lisa, with @JoshuaTindall agreeing: “What an absolute joke when we voted for Ashleigh to be the power housemate. Ridiculous twist.”

@SuperBigBrother observed that the producers had “just dug themselves a grave”, and @N1_Angel said that they’ve “lost all credibility”. @FaxBluenose also blasted them for going “way too far with this one”.

Meanwhile, Big Brother presenters Emma Willis and Rylan Clark have also taken to Twitter to express confusion over Ashleigh’s nomination.

“WTF?? Why am I getting tweets saying Ashleigh is up??? She’s immune isn’t she?” wondered Rylan. Once his followers had clued him in, he added: “WHAAAAAATTTTT??????”

The morning, Emma wrote: “What the hell is going on..? Just looked at my messages and everyone is saying Ashleigh is up..?”

Last week, viewers also complained after the public vote for evictions was ditched for the first time in Big Brother UK history.

It's absolutely ridiculous what they have done, but they better hope Ashleigh doesn't go on Friday. On the bright side hopefully this opens their eyes wide enough for them to realize they need to stop messing with the format and making new rules every week. I also hope that any twists they were planning are discontinued and it plays out normally from now on, there's no point doing any twists now anyway, nothing is going to save this series. It had the worst evicting order possibly in Big Brother history and the only way they could possibly save it is by introducing a 'House Next Door' twist from BB7 where an ex-housemate has the chance to re-enter (preferably Toya or Biannca)

I could see them turning it around and saying it was a lie, because the voting has opened yet, has it?

Hmm true, but would they really ridicule themselves that much to blatantly back-track? My guesses is they'll leave things as they are, possibly release a statement defending the twist and then stop any more twists going ahead for the next 2 weeks or so.

we should find out today or tomorrow if there is any twist because they got to tell us because as voting public we have to know. big brother does the opposite of what the public want.

remove helens pass - there letting her keep it
bb live feed - no live feed

could go on

Yeah but they would say that it has been a part of the twist all along?
Guess we'll have to wait and see but these twists are constantly trying to ruin the show, I don't get why they do them.. for higher ratings? Well that clearly isn't working..

Bunch of $ucktards running things at Channel 5. Are these people real professionals, or are they previous HMs from years gone by? The latter would not surprise me one bit.

Yeah true, they know that uproar means higher number of votes I suppose

Although Helen's pass is genius, I don't like her anymore but she's the only hope we have of this series getting interesting again

I have no liking for Ashleigh at all but to be fair this is a bit of a stinker really.
This is not the way BB should be produced and I really hope it all changes for the next series.

I don't agree that Ashleigh should be up this week either,by the same token though, I am also equally mad at only certain housemates deciding who does get nominated for eviction too.

For me, this is the first series where BB themselves have just stuck up 2 fingers at their viewers and supporters all the way through.

Yeah, they could do that. But then wouldn't they be branded cruel for making Ash believe he was safe when he really wasn't?

BBspy are a bunch of gimps revelling in that kind of sensationalist headline i dare say 95% of viewers are happily enjoying the series completely unaware of the tiny minority of self righteous online type that think they could do it better.

[2] to this! I don't hate the twists, but just this one annoyed me. I'm still going to enjoy the show either way though, the twists make it more entertaining, most of the time.

Brilliantly put!

To be honest, I think I'd be more annoyed ig there was a chance of anybody but Steven going this week, but he doesn't have a chance of staying over anybody in there so....

Exactly.
Dont get me wrong i get bloody annoyed sometimes with it when it doesnt go the way i wanted it to but thats the game and it always has been thats what makes it exciting. I just get over it you cant always win.

Some of the kids that throw tantrums and make complaints and feel the need to tell the world they arent watching it any more when things dont go the way they wanted them to aren't fans of the show.

Yep! I agree, the same thing goes for me and the twists, when I see theres a twist I'm still like even if it doesn't go the way I want to, Friday will now be a lot more interesting because one of the favourites is up. If it was just Steven, Ash, Zoe and Pav, I couldn't care less who really goes
