The P.T. playable demo that Sony announced at Gamescom and released earlier today on the PlayStation Store was actually a teaser for another game: a new Silent Hill from Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro. The PlayStation 4 "interactive teaser" was apparently a stealthy, creative way to announce the new Silent Hill game that Kojima has been teasing for months. At the end of the P.T. demo, a character is shown walking through an abandoned city. The names Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro appear on screen just before the main character turns around, revealing that he is played by The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus. The game is apparently called Silent Hills, according to a title card backed by Akira Yamaoka's Silent Hill theme. You can see a replay of the end of the P.T. demo and the Silent Hills reveal in this Twitch video (skip to 1:16:00) by SoapyWarpig. Sony announced P.T. as a playable interactive teaser for PlayStation 4 earlier today. The game was credited to 7780s Studio, a heretofore unknown game developer. Kojima employed a similar ruse when announcing The Phantom Pain by the fictitious Moby Dick Studios, a game later revealed to be Metal Gear Solid 5. Polygon

Ah that's a surprise, I wrote this off due to the OTT fake reactions in the trailer they showed at the conference but now I'll have to look into it.

Keep this in mind, the demo wont represent the final game (as in, the final game probably wont be a first person game, also, the story probably isnt too related, lol.)
Stuff like this is what SH has been missing for so so long (sorta spoiler for the demo) Spoiler:

If anyone has a PS4, I'd suggest downloading P.T. (its in the demo section) it's pretty damn terrifying, the puzzles are hard though lol.
Also, someone pointed this out, knowing Kojima the "s" part of the title will become something

It's been pointed out that there's actually a bit of spacing between "Hill" and "S", meaning it's not "Silent Hills" but "Silent Hill S" the S could be revealed as the first letter of the subtitle or be transformed into an 8, like above.

Kojima Productions intentionally reduced the quality of 'P.T.' to keep people from guessing the mysterious title was actually from his studio, Hideo Kojima has revealed.
The downloadable PS4 game, which released on Tuesday after a brief spot in Sony's Gamescom stage show, was actually a playable teaser (hence the abbreviation) for a new collaboration between Kojima and filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro: Silent Hills. The title uses Kojima Productions' Fox Engine, but the team did not want its high-budget pedigree to be immediately apparent to players. Similarly, the wooded scene used for the titles backdrop was simply an "amateurish" picture of one developer's back yard, Kojima explained. As for the name of the fictional developer, 7780s Studio was named after Shizuoka Prefecture - the region's name can be loosely translated to mean 'silent hill', and its total area is about 7,780 square kilometers. The 's' naturally stands for 'Silent Hill'. Kojima said his studio is working on Silent Hills in parallel with "finalizing" Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Few details have yet been confirmed for the horror game, though the playable teaser revealed that The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus will have a starring role. Earlier in the presentation, Kojima warned the audience that Silent Hills will be the kind of "game that will make you **** your pants".

Can they not just do a game about Pyramid Head and the guys story before he became Pyramid Head, then again wasn't he a rapist or something?

I thought I was done being scared of horror games, until I played P.T., it's the sort of horror that gets under your skin, it really feels like a return to SH1-4. There's a real feeling of unease when playing it.

I'll play the demo properly tomorrow as I've made myself stay away from the PS4 until I complete a couple things for work. Would you say it is scarier than Outlast?
