Default PM says GP's will be 7 days a week - do you believe him ?

if the Boris is PM i will need a GP appointment 7 days a week ok Dave 30.09.14

in talk it sounds simplistic
just like a full moon
but come on people get realistic
in Boris you can see the rugby tackle buffoon.
all the false promises will flow
and reminders of all the good
1000 new GP's is all part of the grow
but remember "Cameron" is a backwards "Robin Hood".
a GP's appointment is stress
so a extension will hinder a struggling surgery
in principle the idea i bless
could we get "Cameron" to the "crown" and do him for "perjury".
back to Boris
and why the PM position he could never lead
the "best of luck" would come from "Horace"
but like "good morning Britain" its not working with "Susanna Reid".
we are getting closer
and no doubt some are gullible
the "election" is like a samosa
you taste spicy meat but its all vegetable.
you are not going to succeed
the conservatives will get a wave
and like Susanna gave ITV a bleed
can not wait to say good bye to "Dave".

( i will not miss Boris (buffoon) or Dave as often as i miss getting a GP appointment but one thing i do miss is Horace as he did brighten up my day. this tells you a little about him http://www.times-series.co.uk/news/9...ace__has_died/ if you want to see what the buffoon looks like you can here http://lifestyle.iloveindia.com/loun...boon-5984.html as for Susanna - i did love her on the BBC and i feel jumping ships has done her no good what so ever, but i have seen a improvement over the last week and this is to her being a correspondence and not leading GMB. but what do you think ? can Susanna save GMB is Boris a great PM ? or after reading this are you calling you GP ? reply's have to rhyme. ok )

Don't believe it will happen. Now...

that doesn't mean that I don't think it SHOULD happen. The world is becoming 24/7... nine to five jobs are fewer and fewer. Most people just don't have that sort of "standard" working week any more and so there's no reason that GP's shouldn't also adapt to a shift based structure. They wouldn't necessarily have to work more hours - most practices have several doctors so they could even arrange it so that they're only ever doing at most one weekend a month, if they so desired. It's sort of ridiculous having to wait days or make "emergency" appointments (which are usually with useless, poorly trained doctors in my experience) just because you dared to get sick at the weekend. Cow.

Rhyme win.

Hog
there is so much confusion going on about this.

But Doctors should work weekends
for special cases
on a Surgery they can change there days off
and ensure its staffed at weekends.

It makes common sense

No, I have an Uncle who is a GP and he is rock solid against this.

I see more having to think again and maybe taking a year to listen again, while not listening at all really, as to this issue.
I just don't get why this PM doesn't insist on consultation with the people who will have to provide this before he allows pie in the sky statements like this.

A small GP's surgery could never provide 84 hours over 7 days a week, that would make the standard of care possibly dangerous.

Really, this is just more of the evidence, if any were needed still, that the Conservative party doesn't understand the workings and needs of the NHS and that is why it is in no way safe with them whatsoever.

No, this will not happen, and indeed they know that too, which is why it is announced to be in place by 2020.
I actually believe very little from the Conservatives as to the NHS, David Cameron says he believes in the NHS but rarely ever says the NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE,my guess is he would like to replace the word National with the word New, and yes set out to privatise it too.

Remember 2010, David Cameron clearly stating, there will be no top down re-organisation of the NHS under him.
Then it was done with all the problems that those reforms are still causing for the NHS now at this time.
His words as to the NHS are totally meaningless.

Shouldn't happen unless they can provide the NHS with more doctors. The NHS is in dire need of more funding. Year on year they have to cut millions here and there. 7 days a week service will just ruin what is already a thin system.

It's a struggle to get an appointment two weeks ahead in my local surgery as it is. This would just spell out more trouble in my eyes... unless of course they get more staff funding.

If the pilot scheme is successful then perhaps it is a good idea.

More money going tobe thrown at it, but perhaps not enough.
Our surgery manages to open Saturday mornings for emergencies and flu jabs etc,so not too bad.
I would like to know how many hours all our doctors do work already.

There's simply not enough GPs around to cover the work load.

Can we really expect him to keep any promises after he failed to keep any to Scotland?

Dont see how this would work really, unless the NHS gets a boatload of extra funding, rather than more cuts

Our surgery has started opening til 8pm now to make time for more appointments, but it still tends to take a week or more to get one

I have got a good GP surgery where I am at present, they are open 8am to 6 pm every day and until 7pm on a Thursday.
Sat morning is open for emergencies but no way could they even be open 7 days a week from 8am to 8pm even with 3 Doctors there.

The NHS needs assistance now and will need more as each year goes by due to better health treatments available and technology advances.
5 years from now were Cameron and co to still have anything to do with it, it would likely be gone as we all know it and more to the point as to how most people likely want it to be too.
