Default Johann Lamont resigns as leader of Scottish Labour party

J. Lamont’s decision comes as she accuses colleagues of trying to run Scotland ‘like a branch office of London’

Fecked up Labour.

[Johann Lamont (left) is to stand down as leader
of the Scottish Labour party,
after describing some of her Westminster colleagues
as dinosaurs who do not understand the politics
they are facing since the referendum.
At the end of a week in which two
former Labour first ministers expressed
grave concerns about the future of the party,
Lamont accused colleagues of trying to run
Scotland “like a branch office of London”.]

Actually I don't think she was that effective in the Independence referendum or in her dealings with Alex Salmond at Holyrood.

I think Labour need a stronger leader, especially now with Nicola Sturgeon taking over the SNP leadership.

She may be right that she hasn't had the support from English Labour MPs but I really cannot think of anything she has said or done that is noteworthy during her time as Labour leader in Scotland.

Lamont accused colleagues of trying to run
Scotland “like a branch office of London”

Yet for the whole of the indy referendum she campaigned saying the total opposite about Britain all being one etc and arguing against what SNP said about Scotland being run by westminster as a branch office.

hideous lying woman with no principles - typical labour

You could not make this sh1t up

awful

To me,she always seemed like she was just tagging along, rarely making any relevant points and never really taking the lead as to issues.

In my opinion, she simply wasn't up to the job and she knows she isn't but is now just putting the blame onto others.
I would go further and say she is likely the worst ever leader of a Party in Scotland, she didn't even take over with all guns blazing as new leaders often do.

As someone who supports Labour now,I am glad she is going, although for me the SNP are doing a brilliant job in Scotland up to now, that is under Alex Salmond's leadership.
I am not that sure Nicola Sturgeon will be as good, her ambition is too strong and often clouds her judgement.
