Default Strictly v X Factor.(ratings)

Strictly Come Dancing 2014 hit a huge series high rating for its Blackpool special last night.



A whopping audience of over 10 million tuned in to watch the remaining celebrities performing live from the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

Viewers averaged 10.3 million between 7PM and 8:30PM, peaking with over 11 million.

It was up almost a million viewers from last Saturday and down just 100,000 viewers compared to last year’s equivalent show.

The X Factor on the other hand dipped, leading to the gap between the two shows one of the biggest ever at over 3 million viewers.



It was Big Band week on the ITV show an average audience of 7.8 million tuned in, down 200,000 from last weekend.

Year-on-year comparisons look even worse for The X Factor, with 2013′s equivalent live show being watched by 8.5 million.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One tonight with its latest results show from Blackpool.

The X Factor also continues tonight with its latest results show, featuring performances from Nicole Scherzinger and Olly Murs.
