Do you feed the birds with left over bread etc?
I have quite a few little robins in my garden and I used to have a bird feeder for them and the other small birds but the big crows/blackbirds/ravens whatever they are all called knocked them down I actually hate the bigger ones though, especially the creepy looking ones with the massive beaks, they aren't happy getting their own food no they have to swoop down at the little birds and steal theirs, they are actually like the bullies of the bird world I have actually witnessed those big birds sweeping down and grabbing the baby birds too So yeah that's my rant for today. I hate them. But anyway do you feed the birds? |

The blue tits that nested in the bird box must have had Sh*t loads of offspring cos I've seen up to 6 of them all hanging off my fat balls at once. They let you get fairly close too if you don't make any sudden movements.

My mum used to hang fat balls out and throw bread on the decking but there is a sparrow hawk around where I live and she saw it kill a bird trying to feed so she stopped.

Yes I feed all my birds through winter. I can have 14 blackbirds in the garden when the snow is on the grass for weeks on end. My wee robin is almost hand fed at times.

Yup we put out pretty much any leftovers tbh. I may be doing more harm than good though when Skye leaves half her tea so I put beans out for them, but they seem to enjoy it
Everyone gets a magazine thing off the council round here that tells you everything thats on in the local area..along with a load of waffle about how good the council is doing, and tips for staying warm and stuff like that (think its mostly for the oldies tbh). and the one this month recommended putting leftover RICE out for the birds...I always thought rice made birds stomachs expand/explode |
