Default Migrant is found dead in the Channel Tunnel (French side)

On the French Fecking Side again.

ITV1NewsHD showed how they just walked into the
Tunnel
even though staff could have stopped them
the French are the problem.

is invaded in latest bid to reach Britain, causing huge delays for passengers]

Some hang onto Trucks
on the Railway carriage
if they do not hold on tight
they will flip off.

The French are doing nothing to stop them
so his Death is the French Fault.

The Entrance to that tunnel on the French Side
is meant to be secure.

Fecking French , again.

..what's so sad as well with these tragic things is that as there is no identification/papers etc, it's just immigrants/nameless, faceless people with no empathy given to them...one of the main points under the headline was the length of delay with traffic... when in fact someone has lost their life trying to flee their country and in that country, he will probably have a family/parents etc who may never know that he has died...may he rest in peace, poor guy....

Shockingly sad, these displaced people are fighting for survival, I think here we have a very macabre view of the plight of these people at times.

How many safe countries did he pass through to get into the tunnel?

Exactly.
Time we had more effective border controls, if these unfortunate people realised they had no chance of getting into England they might not risk their lives.

Completely agree Smudgie. Our borders are far from secure and it's turning into a free-for-all.

If it was just for safe asylum they would'nt be crossing continents to get to Britain. They want the Ł's.

The French are fecking useless. They should be stopping them before they even get into France.

Or, if you want to get right to the root of the problem.. we could stop bombing so many of the countries which these people come from and it would mean far less people getting displaced. The way in which we bomb is very reckless and results in far more civilian death than the terrorists themselves. We'd also save a lot of money.

And on top of that we could actually take our fair share of refugees. clearly for a person to be so desperate they must be facing terrible persecution or they wouldn't risk their lives to get here. We are nowhere near as 'full' or 'overpopulated' as people make out. For the lack of housing, blame the tories for building far too little houses. Immigrants are being demonised to smokescreen their lack of sensible policy.

Yeah, as has been said, France is a safe haven.
We have our fair share of immigrants already, as to overcrowding, it is not all about houses and the Tories, the infrastructure is bursting at the seams.
We can't all moan about the NHS, school places etc then say we have room for everyone

Firstly, you don't know where the dead person was from so it's a bit rich to use the "we're bombing their country" accusation. You have no idea of the way we bomb or why so how you've come to the conclusion it's reckless is pure fantasy on your part. Moreover, we take our fair share of genuine refugees in this country, quite rightly. We're a small island though, we can't take them all. And incidentally, expecting the Tories to have built enough homes for everyone in the last five years is laughable.

Similarly we don't know whether they were an 'economic' migrant or a refugee, so it's all hearsay at present.
It that usual, is an economic migrant someone grabs onto a moving train as they are just a bit skint?
Mocking others comments are pointless, none of us are privvy to our operations in other countries what we do have are the testimony of those fleeing that their country of origin is unstable however. I appreciate we don't know that here yet.

Assuming for a moment that this man was a refugee, do you think it's okay that he must have crossed at least two or three "safe" countries to get to the UK? Why do you think they do that?

And actually, some of us do interest ourselves in our operations in other countries, at least to the point where it's easy to point out fantasy.

Let's not assume anything, this was a deceased man in a tunnel that is all we know as of now.
I suspect the view of some of these refugees is they'll all on emerging from the chunnel be met, presented with a passport, keys to a new house and a welfare cheque?...

If those who follow the conflicts in several parts of the world can acknowledge that there is fighting, then they must also be fully aware there will be civilians at risk, it naturally follows that there will be displacement and those requiring refugee status won't they..where is the fantasy?

Yeah, it's only an assumption when I do it. Of course... I forgot how Serious Debates works now.
