[Child sex abuse claims against the former
prime minister Sir Edward Heath are to be
investigated by police, it has been announced.

Officers are to examine the handling of a claim against
the Conservative prime minister made in the 1990s,

There were rumours about Heath at the time, whether they were true or not is anyone's guess, but this must be followed up as it is clear that cover ups did happen in that era, and the more strands uncovered, the more likely it is that it will never happen again.

PM says police can go 'as high as they like' that's nice of him.

'Police should be able to investigate child abuse allegations against high-profile politicians "without fear or uncertainty" of how high up in Government they can go.

David Cameron said police should be able to take action on any new information and urged anyone who knew anything about "these terrible crimes against children and young people" to come forward.

'If' any of it is true in the first place, then it should be at least thoroughly investigated,although for the life of me,why was it not done so at the time allegations were raised near decades ago.

When has child abuse 'not' been a criminal offence in the 60s,70s,80s and 90s to the present.

Why all this when the individual is dead and can never be questioned or answer the allegations or defend themselves.

Derek and Ted Heath are innocent until proven guilty.

However if there was claims about it at the time when he was alive then it should've been investigated, although with all of this information coming out now it's making it hard for any normal guys to walk around if their Niece, Nephew, Son, or Daughter nowadays without getting glares from people, I've not experienced it personally myself because of how young I am, but I know of people that have experienced that and it's disgusting and I blame people like Jimmy Saville and Rolf Harris etc who should rot in hell for causing this issue for the male gender.

I'm sure if there was a cover up that there will be some traceable evidence of it somewhere. Everyone knows that this was a problem and maybe it still is. It will all come out one way or another, so going to the press does nothing more than focus public attention on the issue. The more attention on it, the better as far as I'm concerned.

I mean the whole sordid mess needs to be exposed. I think the whole web of abuse is wide spread and many big names from the past and present have been protected. Any exposure in the press or anywhere else that leads to it being brought to the public's attention and forces something to be done is fine by me.

From my memories Heath was always viewed as suspicious and the same applies now to current day politicians and celebrities. It has to be sorted out and now is the time to do it.
