Seems to have gone down well, it was a very centrist speech with a lot to appeal to disaffected Labour supporters

I thought the Corbyn attack was a bit ott though

He went in heavily with the "land of opportunity" stuff that I've always agreed with when it comes to Tory rhetoric. A climate of opportunity and achievement based on merit. Yes please. They almost won me over with it back in 2009/10 (though I didn't vote at all).

I wish I could believe him but I don't. They've been talking about this for decades; it never materialises, and if anything, they just keep on pushing policies that do the opposite and favour privilege. Saying all the right things but I don't think there's any intention to make it happen.

I wanted to be nice and avoid saying anything as to this speech as I am sure you are well aware, I cannot stand David Cameron, do not like him and would never trust a word he says either.
So I would be speaking from a very biased view against him anyway.

However as to his claiming the Conservatives taking the centre ground, sorry but my vision of his and the party under his leadership is one of not at all gaining the centre ground but creating a waste ground.
A waste ground where the most vulnerable, poor, sick and disabled are hopefully for this govt trampled into that waste ground and buried beneath it.
Leaving the top of it free for the greediest, richest and most powerful to build on it, not for the benefit of the masses but to satisfy their selfish, heartless greed for themselves.

He stands there and ignores all the warnings as to the elderly needing care and being denied it by his cuts, he ignores all the warnings of massive problems looming in the NHS, he doesn't even mention those losing their futures in the North East as to their jobs and throws a pittance at the problem too, considering how many people will be affected.

Then claims he is on the right track, what a total waste of space he is both as a leader and PM.
For me the worst PM the UK has likely ever had in reality.

Right, I am now heading off again for a while, as I am with my family at present.

Don't send him a poem waterhog, he will probably read it as his next speech or raise it with the PM at PMQs

No one will have a short memory in 5 years time, though Cameron won't care as he is out, it will be down to Boris to get the Tory's reelected.

Hi Cherie.
All powers that be I hope not, the man is a buffoon,
If the Conservatives fail to choose someone more like Michael Gove then they will deserve to be out for ages in my view.

The likes of Boris, George Osborne and the worst of the lot Theresa May don't bear thinking about for me.

He is but he can rub some Conservatives up the wrong way, he is seen as a liability more than an asset by some of them.
He isn't likely going to help get back voters from UKIP or the Greens.
