The film also welcomes Julia Sawalha back as Saffy, Jane Horrocks as Bubble and June Whitfield as Mother. Kathy Burke will also be back as Patsy's editor Magda.

Glee's Chris Colfer is a newcomer to the film, and is joined by Kelly Hoppen and Kate Moss.

More controversially, The Krankies star Janette 'Wee Jimmy Krankie' Tough will play a male fashion designer called Huki Muk.

Saunders's regular collaborator Dawn French's role has been cut from the film but hinted that she still may pop up in the movie, saying that she's "on the reserve bench" if needed.

Mandie Fletcher directs from Saunders's script, and the film is set for a July 1 release.

Not the biggest fan of the show.

I like Joanna Lumley's character, Jane Horrocks character is ok, and June Whitfield is a legend, but not keen on the rest.

I may give it a watch, but sitcoms that cross over to the big screen are usally a let down, there's only a handful that worked well.
