Ooh would be interesting! I really hope we see a shake up which makes the show even better than prior!

Where was it held for BB1 then because it looks pretty much the same to me?

Not sure but it was definitely smaller! Not sure how much they could upgrade size wise again as the most recent house was huge! Don’t think they’d want to downsize either though.

The season 1 house was held in a TV studio in Mississauga (its near Toronto).

Both the BB1 and BB2-BB5 houses were on sound stages. I don't think the floorspace for the BB2-5 house was actually much bigger - they just reconfigured the layout to move the bedrooms upstairs which meant there was room downstairs for the new pool area and secret War Room.

Construction began today so looks like this is true

I'm excited, for all I complain about BBUK's lack of layout changes in recent years I really do hate the fact that the US/Canadian houses rarely change. Hopefully the designs are just as amazing as before

I have a feeling the house is going to be hell of a lot smaller though, can’t see how they top the BBCAN 4 and 5 houses. Global probably only agreed to let them do BBCAN6 if there were budget cuts.

I have a bad feeling that BBCAN 6 would be BBCAN's BB19 because of how Global originally did not want to renew the series, and only renewed it due to the fans. Anyways it was quite stupid for them to try and put it on hiatus, especially when BBCAN is on its peak now...

Undoubtedly there were cuts last season and I think the combination of the lease on the house ending and there being a winter version of BBUSA coming up (which they may have known about) led to it being "rested", but now it's revived and they're rebuilding a house I'd say that possibly confirms a future beyond the next series too.

I do think Canada have done a much better job than the US of making the house look very different from series to series even without layout changes - and even though they've largely been tweaked they've still made more significant changes to their layout in 5 years than the US have in 17.

If the house turns out smaller that won't necessarily be a bad thing - the Vault has pretty much been surplus to requirements since it was the Vault in season 3, and a more confined space (ala BBUK5) could bring a new dimension. Would actually like to see the US/Canadian format play out in a glass walled house where it is far more difficult to have conversations in private.

According to the designer the BB2 - BB5 house was actually built in a smaller studio space than the original house built for BB1... He talks about needing to build the pool in to it's own area due to the limited space... The smaller studio is another reason they needed to accommodate more rooms on the second level...
