This is my thoughts too, professional and organised events and displays are fine but being available for anyone to buy should be stopped.

True, its just sparks of coloured fire which rises up to the air and explodes, which makes noise and is pretty rubbish actually, I agree that it can be used by professionals, as long as they follow the right instructions, and cause no harm...

I think they should be banned for the general public. Proffesional displays I don't mind.

I wish they would ban the noise though and make them all quiet, it upsets so many poor animals and probably some children and the elderly.

Surprised to find myself saying no.
I can't stand the noise they make, as a child I always sat on my nana's washing machine and watched them through the window as I was really scared of the bangers etc, still jump from October onwards now when the bangers go off.
However, I also remember the lovely bonfire night parties we had in the past.
I do think the rules and laws around the use of them should be tightened up though, apart from organised public displays then you should only be allowed to use them on your own property, not in the streets, also not be allowed to use them after midnight apart from New Year's Eve, perhaps an extra 15 minutes for that one night of the year.

You cannot in all honesty police that though, as if someone want to set of a few fireworks at 4am how can you stop them doing it.

I am not sure they should be banned, it goes on for a few weeks depending on when Diwali and then dies down again until NYE, I think they should be modified so they are not as powerful so any sold to individuals are not the ones that sound like a bomb going off.

Professional displays should remain as they are.

Not at all, they are far too pretty to ban. Creates a nice atmosphere when you go for a night out with a bonfire and everything as well.

(I don't however agree with them being set off like a month in advance)

No, I'd say there should be tighter controls on the sales of display only fireworks though.

No, but I think if they’re going to use them they have to inform locals if they use them bc it’s not fair on animals to have loud noises sprung on them, we heard people using them in July around when people would be outside with their pets and that’s horrendous

Making sure they are only sold to adults makes a huge difference to the problem of them being set off well in advance of bonfire night.

I don't think they should be sold to the general public. Should just be left to professional events.

Love fireworks but agree that they should only be at professional events etc. Too many idiots letting them off at all hours. God I’m so old
