They will be locking up reform voters, to stop them voting.

[A mix of stories lead Thursday's papers,
but several focus on new plans to address
overcrowding in prisons announced
by Justice Secretary Shabana Mahmood.
The government is going "soft on criminals",
the Daily Mail writes, after announcing
that some inmates who are recalled
to prison for breaking the terms
of their release will be released early after
28 days.
But Mahmood warns of a "total breakdown of
the justice system" if the issue remains
unaddressed.]

I will say again.
STOP giving custodial sentences for financial crimes.
Release earlier those already in prison for financial crimes.
It's pointless, all it does is adds to the taxpayers burden and in most cases nothing raked back whatsoever.
Far better sentence them to other kinds of payback with community work/ projects.

Then there'll be plenty of prison places for those guilty of terrorism, criminal damage, any violence related and of course sexual crimes and murder.
Plus in some of those crimes for FAR longer too than is the case now.

Build more prisons.

The population has rocketed and yet we've built no more prisons, no more hospitals, no more schools... Put them on prison ships if that's what it takes but no more being soft on criminals. Not enough thought is given to the victims. I don't care what it takes but no more letting criminals out early.

Would be easier to simply deport foreign criminals.
