This forum become very aggressive lately? Its supposed to be fun, a way of swapping opinions about a TV show we all enjoy in one way or another! Instead is turned into a b*tch fest with people insulting each other over the slightest disageement!

I think that part of the problem is that there seems to be two types of people here:
1. People who want to discuss Big Brother.
2. People who just want to stir sh*te or cause arguments.
I am somewhat surprised by it, to be honest. Most forums I have participated in and those I have owned/moderated do not tolerate this sort of behavior. I bet I could start a thread with a paragraph about how Jewish people shouldn't have babies because they killed Jesus and it wouldn't get deleted. (I don't really believe that btw)

I don't agree. I joined this forum about 3 weeks ago and was immediately put off by the trolls and spammers. But I stayed because I thought this was THE big brother forum. I didn't realize there were others out there at the time.

i know i'm quite new myself, but even since i've started i have noticed the pure hate that is spouted from some members. it's all about arguing!!
i just want to talk about the show!! it's fun to have a debate about our views but i'll admit that i have started not to post as much due to the number of childish threads
i respect other people's point of view if it has a point, but to start calling hms and even members *****s etc is too much

I agree bansheewails... there's an awful lot of reactionary people in here who just like to attack others and not actually have a proper, mannerly and civilised debate over topics. I honestly believe there's some people on here with multiple accounts who intentionally come on just to badger other forum members.

I agree, sometimes when i go into post my opinion on something then i see all the arguing and name calling it puts me off and i just leave the thread.

Nicely put and i agree but many people just like to have a good ol moan and a slagging off. I suppose it's like getting things off your chest. after all it's only words. You know the phrase: sticks and stones hurt my bones. Anyway human beings are very complex.

I agree, sometimes when i go into post my opinion on something then i see all the arguing and name calling it puts me off and i just leave the thread.
Today just got to me! Only in the forum and about 6 of the top threads were all disintergrating into name calling and fighting, and I thought its leave forever, whic I didn't want to do, or say me piece!

Liking Freddie, Siavash. Also Bea, at the moment. You have to admit Marcus is deffinitely entertaining despite his annoyances. He does not get to me as he does others. He is certainly down earth which i like.

it can be funny, but it's fairly pathetic really. i just find it interesting that anytime someone is fighting with me...insulting me or whatever.... the person goes offline and then another new member comes on to take over. someone who wasn't involved in the argument in the first place. very interesting. maybe i'm just paranoid lol!
i'm sorry but i have not started anything.
i came to look what this thread was about and found people insulting me.
so i'm gonna defend myself and i think i've done that in a decent manner that as not been abusive to other forum members

Am never sure if they are friends mucking about or if they`re serious so i tend not to give an opinion. I joined tibb as i have no one to talk to about BB and it`s good to hear other peoples opinions.

It is 100% up to the mods to change the situation. Either they start cracking down on the trolls and arguments or the board will just stay the same. Or get worse maybe.
There is really nothing we can do about it directly. I mean, we can ignore or yell or whatever to the trolls, but they don't leave. And they create all of these other accounts so that they are yelling at their target in different names.
The one thing we COULD do is to start a thread which is addressed to the mods in the title. Sort of a petition to crack down on troll behavior.

Good thread. I was a member here in 2007 and it was much the same then and shows nothing really changes! There will always be those out there who wish to instigate arguments. They hide behind usernames and are living in their own little worlds.
Don't feed them and avoid the hassle. :wink:

I agree. I have had to put two people on ignore lately, because some individuals can't seem to get into a debate without turning it into a childish slanging match.
