Dvd to iPod converter?

Does anyone know where I can get a free, easy dvd to iPod converter?
I have downloaded about four so far, three I have just given up on and one I used; which took three hours, but when I put it on my iPod it had a watermark across saying "free trial" :sad:

Can anyone help?
