Alchohol
from my own experiences alchohol can make me aggressive and angry whereas weed mellows me out and makes me all happy

Alcohol obviously. It's the drug that causes the most diseases and deaths.

This
Alcohol has been proven as a worse substance.
Weed can have side-effects but can be used as a relaxant for ill people.

Alcohol is more addictive and more harmful. I wish you would have included tobacco too and we could have multiple votes.

Alcohol for a number of reasons:-
a) the 'culture' (please excuse the oxymoron of this word) it's spawned, particularly amongst associates. This whole "omg lets go out every week and get wasted LOLOL" philosophy it's instigated is embarrassing and shameful. It seems fun at age 16, but by 19 (which I am) it's very boring.
b) dutch courage. Countless times I've woken up the next morning and regretted so many decisions - sent texts, lost teeth, embarrassing revelations...
c) hangovers
d) yobs
e) underage chavs
f) expensive
g) queues for drinks
h) there's very few drinks I enjoy tasting
i) actually harmful for you.
j) my dad is an alcoholic
I've never got to J before
Good quality weed is fun and harmless. It's the **** that stinks which I don't appreciate.

Anything thats addictive is bad:bored:
Weed screws your brain and immune system up. If taken with tobacco even worse. Alcohol is more addictive though and causes liver damage etc. Hard to say

Not really, what about sex?
Alcohol, simply because its more addictive than weed and results in more deaths. I just see weed as a bit of harmless fun and it dosen't really mess with the body as much as alcohol does.

That's weird.
The poll has 10 votes. 9 for alcohol/1 for weed.
Yet the % is 90.91 and 9.09
Surely it should be 90% and 10%???

Weed.
Due to i just hate smoke.
Therefore i find it worse.
I know its not fact but i have my personal reasons to dislike weed :bouncy:
Edit: I would say weightlifting is an additive thing that isnt bad, but some people take that adiction into steroids.. lol...

Lol it's funny that the majority think alcohol is worse than weed, yet weed is illegal and alcohol is not. ****ing government.

Both need to be respected, both have their bad points, both abused can have serious consequences! EDIT: and I speak from a wealth of experience of both FACT:tongue:

I dont see a lot of "weed" smokers having the equivalent of 1 pint of a glass of wine
Alcohol, but I despise weed.

Definately Alchohol as it changes the personality and can make people aggresive and dangerous.
Lauren
01-08-2009, 12:00 PM
Both.
Alcohol is more widespread and therefore more dangerous, but I think if weed was as widespread it'd be equally as dangerous.
Some personalities just don't suit weed, and weed can act as a trigger to underlying problems. Whereas Alcohol just causes them.
In all honesty, we can't directly compare the two, they're completely different things and both bad for the body.

I'd say alchohol, but in the long run weed is worse.
Brad.

both are as bad as each other IMO

I forgot about thsi thread until i heard a debate on Radio 2 about the harm of weed, and somebody was stating that alcohol is much more harmful in the long run...
I doubt either seriously effects your health in the long run when used in moderation. Love em both

Alcohol by far. Nobody commits violent crimes stoned do they.
Kerry

Alcohol in the short term (as in the effects straight away) and weed by far in the long term. Makes people totally paranoid and leads to pyschological damage.
But in reality, both mess your head and body.

Alcohol by a country mile.
Hmm I dunno, a couple of people I know have been seriously messed up by weed in ways that alcohol doesn't.

Both are equally as bad if anyone gets addicted to them, however from research it would seem that alcohol helps cause more aggressive behaviour.

Facebook co-founder Sean Parker has donated $100,000 (£62,000) to support the US state of California's ballot measure to legalise marijuana.
Financial filings for the Proposition 19 campaign revealed the donation.
Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz also made donations totalling $70,000 to the measure last month. The pair are no longer with Facebook.
Californians vote next month on whether to legalise the possession and sale of marijuana.
knew I'd heard about this topic in the news recently, that's where^. Respect to him.

Well, I suppose it's mainly about tax, cigarettes raise a lot of money for the government, and there's also the fact that it's not really practical or possible to ban it when it's been legal now for 300 years.
Lucy.
10-10-2010, 12:37 AM
Both. Except alcohol in moderation is fine whereas any illegal drug can kill you just from taking it once even if it's not likely.

A natural herb or some brewed up man made liquid, which do you trust?

Alcohol as it changes peoples personalities, lots of crimes today are alcohol related,it is cheap and can be brought from anywhere,it is a killer and a drunk driver can kill others, but I don't advocate weed either.
